Dr. Luis C Olivas, DO

I am a long time patient of this doctor. I went to his office for a sprained back recently and he informed me that he needed a urine sample to test for "kidney stones." One week later I received a bill for multiple labs that I was not informed of or consented to. When I contacted his office about the unnecessary lab work, I was told that I would need to make an appointment (that I would have to pay for) to come in and discuss the issue. Bottom line: This guy is the reason they call it "practicing medicine". Beware.

im tired of all the negative remarks. none of that has ever happened to me and my wife and i have been going to doc. o for almost 5 years. he and his staff have always been nice to us. maybe you people should try to be nice yourself and they will return the favor. i am of the elderly myself so some of you old farts need to be a little nicer to the staff and i bet they will be nice to you. keep up the good work g and j McRae

He misdiagnoses. He is not helpful to control blood pressure, even when I tell him I'm getting very high readings on a regular basis. Office staff is rude. I switched doctors.

Nurse with held prescription several times over a week Always a hour plus wait time. I changed Doctor.

I’m not even a year under a care of Dr. Olivas but this doctor had a full 5 star from . His very attentive to his pat, always listening first to your narration without interruption on your conversation. His soo very down to earth doctor that I’m sooo very comfortable to talk to him. But the most big damage to his clinic is his some of his staff. Especially Charlie. She soo hard to talk to when you had something to ask. Very rude staff. Also I’m trying to call on their clinic on weekday. Just to set an appointment but the staff in the phone said they not open yet till 0830.But on their answering machine they were open 0800. I still keep calling on between hours but only answering machine will response on you and they will not receive the call till end of their business day. These things are very important for the patients. Hope Dr. Olivas will do some8 on this for the good sake of good reputation of him as the one of the great doctor here in Abilene TX

As a doctor for myself, he is a very nice physician, attentive to your care and most of all, his always listen to your narration about how you feel that day. He not interrupting on your conversation. I will give him my overall 5 star to him as my doctor. But in terms of his staff, that a big damage for Dr. Olivas qualities of his clinic service. His staff are soo rude. Name Charlie on the reception of his clinic is the one so hard to talk especially when you talking to her on the phone. He such a great doctor of Abilene, but bec8 is his staff, it ruin his good reputation.

I do not understand the negative reviews at all. Dr. Olivas discovered health issues that my previous dr I saw for 20 years never knew. He is very attentive and has a great bedside manner. Also asks if I understand everything and is always willing to explain anything I don't. He is very intelligent and I respect his medical opinions and advice.

My 89 year old dad has been a patient of Dr Olivas for 3 years. I've been seeing Dr Olivas for 3 years as well. He is very kind, caring and patient. My Dad is diabetic and Dr Olivas has been very thorough in keeping track of Dad's results, tracking his readings and finding just the right medication to keep his readings in the right zone. We have both been very happy with our care. There have been occasional long waits, but we don't mind because we know that if either one of us needs extra time, he will be there for us. Dr. Olivas is interested in our whole health and always asks how we are doing in other areas, not just the one reason for the appointment. I would definitely recommend Dr. Olivas, in fact - I just recommended him to my daughter.

I arrive at my scheduled appointment time and have waited for up to an hour or more in an examination room for my appointment.

Unprofessional office staff , unwilling to listen to patient problems . No follow up on patient needs . My family will be finding a different doctor.
