Dr. Luis Albert Rodriguez, MD

It is not possible to list all of the beautiful life experience I would have missed were it not for the compassion and skill of Dr. Luis Rodriguez. After five years of suffering, my back pain finally came to a level where I could not walk without using two canes and I could only take slow, tiny, 3 inch steps. I was fairly young for so much pain and numbness. I still remember Dr. Rodriguez examining my reflexes and being rather shocked at how little there really was. I don’t think my MRI imagery reflected how bad and disabling my pain was but thank God Dr Rodriguez believed me. I could not feel my legs from the knee down, and from the hips down I also had sciatica pain that was 100% debilitating. There was not one stretch or therapy that could be done because the pain was too excruciating and over the top. I was basically bedridden. All life plans were not on hold, but they were canceled. Waking up from surgery was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. After… five years of never being able to wake up without pain and barely being able to ever sleep. Five years of sleeping in a recliner and the only way to get out was to have assistance rolling off the side of it onto my hands and knees. Remembering what I had to go through just to stand up each day I realize how out of the ordinary and inconvenient my methods had to be just to accomplish any mobility. So immediately after surgery, for the first time in five years I woke up with absolutely no pain. The surgical pain was nothing compared to what I had been suffering. Within a week I was moving and walking and having to use self discipline not to do all the things I knew that now I could do. The debilitating sciatica pain was completely gone and has never returned since. Since then I have accomplished so many things and life has been so beautiful and exciting. It is amazing what you can do when you’re not in excruciating pain. became an inventor of a patented child safety product, I’ve worked with special needs children for social development, I have volunteered in assisting the elderly. Ive taken on major gardening and sustainability projects, home remodeling projects, Swimming, biking, hiking... The very best and most important thing is that I would not be a mother today if it were not for Dr. Rodriguez’s perfect repair of my injured spine. There is absolutely no way I would have been approved to adopt our daughter in the condition that I was in ...but because of Dr. Rodriguez and because God was SO merciful to arrange my meeting him, today I have the most beautiful 13-year-old daughter and I know without a single doubt I would not have her if it was not for Dr. Rodriguez helping me. Now I am 51 and my husband is ready to retire. We are getting ready to begin our adventurous life of traveling to discover where we want to live out our golden years. With two years living in Ecuador in our near future and then RVing around the US as we continue homeschooling our precious daughter... I often think of Dr Rodriguez and how he changed my life. I think about all the other lives he surely has restored through his life work and I wonder if he has any clue of all of the love and happiness that has been generated because of his professionalism , skill, talent, caring, gentle, steadfast work and work ethic. He’s kind, tenderhearted extremely intelligent, warm and even funny. I still feel guilty for playing a joke on him when I came for my post surgical office visit. I came in walking slow and bent over, pretending I was in terrible pain and couldn’t move ...and I think I scared the lights out of him until I quickly stood up straight, smiling and thanked him with all my heart. I felt terrible realizing it was a mean joke but he forgave me thank goodness. So, to Dr. Rodriguez... I sure hope you read this and find out how much you have impacted, not only my life, but a little orphan babygirl in China, as well as my two sons and husband who got their mom/ wife back.
