Dr. Luke S Kao

My husband was referred to Dr. Kao's office by his Primary Care Provider so that he can be seen by a specialist for his cancer. We waited for several weeks to be seen by this doctor. Upon his arrival to Dr. Kao's office, he was less than greeted by the front office. No, "hello", no smile, no eye contact, and certainly no warmth. The nurse who took him into the not so impressive examination room had hardly even brushed her hair. All that aside, my husband awaited the doctor. When he did walk in, he rustled through the well organized folder of medical information prepared by my husband's other doctors, labs, x-rays, MRI's, bone biopsy, etc. His bedside manner, which left a whole lot to be desired, was terrifically terrible. He swept back and forth through the pages and asked, "why are you here?" When my husband told him he needed to see him in order to begin treatment with the oncologist, he basically told him he was not the right kind of doctor and turned my husband away. Dr.… Kao walked out of that room after only 5 minutes and left us frustrated, stranded with no plan, no appointment, no doctor's report, and no referral to the specialist who was waiting for him. It turns out that Dr. Kao is a urologist and just the right kind which leaves me to believe that he was uninterested in treating my husband for one of a few reasons. We've been waiting fo nearly a year to begin treatment for a cancer which a doctor in a different county said was not a wait and see situation. Dr. Kao and his office are far less than professional and are not recommended by this family.
