Dr. Lurleen Romero Benzian, MD

I've been a patient of Dr Benzian's for many years. She has always provide excellent care, compassion and service. She's a vital part of my medical team in Santa Barbara. She has saved me from cancer. I rely upon her wise advice.

Dr. Benzian knowingly exposed me to her office when she knew that her receptionist had Covid. They did not even bother telling me about it when I walked into the office or when I waited in the waiting room for 30 minutes to see the doctor. They decided that it was just fine and dandy to have me exposed to Covid. When the doctor finally walked into the exam room, she looked at me ignorantly and said “it’s everywhere”. Then she told me that they had found out at noon that day that the receptionist had Covid my appointment was at 1:30 and I asked her whether she had a phone. When I left the office I saw that in the waiting room there were a number of elderly patients also exposed to an office where there was Covid. I announced to them that there was Covid in the office. They were all shocked. When I called the office to let them know that I was going to report them they said they were now calling people. Really incredible negligence. I thought that there was an oath where a doctor promise… to do no harm. This doctor does not care. I have an immune deficiency disease and I could die from her neglect.

Dr. Benzian has been my dermatologist for 16 years. She is the smartest kindest physician. She is all about diagnosis, treatment and never tries to sell me creams, lotions or cosmetic procedures. She is wonderful!!!

Never got back to me as promised..had to call office to find results

She was an hour late for the appointment. She suggested to treat my small precancerous skin lesion with liquid nitrogen. She partially missed the lesion on the first try and repeated the procedure. She invoiced $198 for the procedure. At home after the treated area healed it became clear that she had missed on the second try also. I phoned the office to inquire about a third try. I was told that I would be charged again for the procedure. I decided to find a more competent and responsible dermatologist for future treatments.

Dr. Benzian has treated my wife and I for several years. She has always been very attentive and shows a definite concern for our welfare. Add to that is the fact that she is very good with all surgeries whether a simple cut or a more critical and extensive biopsy.

Both my daughter and I have seen Dr. Benzian for various reasons and she has been wonderful each time. She is very knowledgeable and I have never felt rushed - she takes her time and listens well. She has always followed up and has squeezed us in at a moment's notice when we've had emergency situations. I highly recommend Dr. Benzian.

Both my husband and I see Dr. Benzian, and we find her to be an excellent physician. She is thorough, gentle, professional, and has a great bedside manner. She never tries to rush us through our appointments and is always willing to spend extra time answering questions if needed. As my husband is predisposed to and has developed several skin cancers, he must be checked frequently. We feel very fortunate to be under the care of such a fine doctor whom we trust to give us the best of care.

Over an hour wait? That's ridiculous and a complete disregard for my time. Office staff was rude. No wonder it was easy to get an appointment.
