Dr. Luzviminda T Pinpin, MD

I grew up in the rural province of Cavite in the Philippines. I used to pretend that I was my grandfather, who was at that time a sanititian, one who was authorized by the local clinic to give antibiotics for TB. I used to collect his empty bottles of medication and play around with my cousins and siblings, pretending to give them injections and be their doctor. I guess these were my first small steps in pursuing a career in medicine. Though I was discouraged by my parents to become a physician, because of the length of time in school and the amount of dedication involved, it had always been my goal to dedicate myself to helping people and hopefully making a difference in their lives. I am lucky to have a wonderful, supportive family. My two daughters are grown now. Both of them are physicians, and each starting her own family. . In my free time, I enjoy floral decoration, traveling to distant lands, dancing, and cooking for my children.
