Dr. Lydia M Cassorla, MD

Anesthesia; Cardiac Anesthesia; Pediatric Anesthesia Dr. Lydia Cassorla has been a member of the cardiac anesthesia team since 1989. Her primary professional interests are the care of children and adults undergoing cardiac surgery and intraoperative echocardiography. She earned her undergraduate degree in French at Oberlin College. Following premedical studies at Wellesley College, she completed her medical degree at UCSF. She completed her residency in anesthesia at UCSF and a fellowship in cardiac anesthesia and intensive care at the Brigham and Women's Hospital of Harvard University. Following five years of private practice in San Francisco and Marin counties, Dr. Cassorla returned to UCSF as a member of the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, International Anesthesia Research Society, Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists and American Society of Echocardiography.
