Dr. Lydia Jacinto Cohan, MD

Lydia Cohan does not deserve the title of Doctor. She is the most condescending, abhorrent human being I’ve ever encountered. She refused to speak with me about my daughters medication, cutting me off and belittling me when I raised concerns about her dosage. She then yelled at my daughter because Lydia was upset with me for questioning my daughters dosage, and told my daughter, who was already struggling and fragile, that she (my daughter) needed to handle her parents. She spent all of 5 minutes with my daughter before diagnosing her and prescribing meds. Neither diagnosis match my daughters symptoms. Even after I voiced concerns about the dosages being too high, she increased the doses because the meds weren't working. Her staff apologized for her behavior and stated that she treats everyone the same way. Keep your child FAR away from St Luke?s and Lydia Cohan.

Cohen is a dr who allows her knowledge of insurance denials to dictate treatment. She interrupts, talks down, and has a horrible bedside manner. You are dealing with children dr, these are not 12 year old animals. We need your opinion based on medical expertise not what will and won’t be paid for. If you say it needs to happen don’t let insurance history determine treatment. If I could scream on this post I would. Our daughter is the worst she has ever been and this “dr” wants says she doesn’t need etc or therapy even thought she has been at RTC and TGH for 7 months.

Dr Cohan is very forceful in her opinions but the medicine is first-rate. She can seem difficult because she is a woman who doesn't end her sentences with a question mark. But she is thorough and knowledgeable and cares about your child. It's difficult to find all three of those things in the same clinician.

Very poor bedside manner and unprofessional. My child would often cry in her care and expressed a lot of distrust with Dr. Cohan. She did not accurately diagnosis my child, I sought a second opinion. It is my belief she is not a well-qualified and lacks compassion. Dr. Cohan stated that she works 7 days a week. I feel that is too much which is, along with I stated above, is contributing poor care towards her patience.

I saw Dr. Cohan while admitted to St. Lukes Behavioral Hospital, and right off the bat I knew her main concern was diagnosing (incorrectly) and getting me out of her office. In my 15-minute session with her, I discussed several issues including an eating disorder which I was diagnosed with previous to my stay. Although I did not eat for five days (nearly my entire stay), she paid no attention to it, and changed the subject. I talked to almost everyone in the adolescent ward, and every person who was under the "care" of Dr. Cohan received the same diagnosis. This person cares about money and money only, and I would never recommend her to anyone.

Dr Cohan spoke with my child briefly and insisted that she is bipolar. She was only willing to discuss one method of treatment, and even said that if I did not consent to the drug, I would be risking my daughters life. She spent our short appointment aggressively repeating herself and cutting me off, and then said she had other families waiting. My daughter does not show most of the symptoms of bipolar, so I am now left to think she treats most patients all the same.

Dr. Cohan has extremely poor communication skills, does not listen and cuts you off when you try and speak to her. She always seems to be in a hurry and unconcerned with pt. needs. I would NOT recommend her to anyone at anytime!

Very poor communication skills. Refuses to listen to parents or staff. Diagnoses everyone the same and prescribes certain meds consistently.

Dr. Cohan was disrespectful to me and my son. She was not caring or helpful in his care. When you are treating seriously ill people you should not be laughing or combing your hair.

Dr. Cohen spent 15 mintues with my child and made important decisions. Dr. Cohen has poor communication skills and continued to speak over me. She made a comment about what the board would think of her decision making. Her primary concern is obviously herself and not the patients she is managing. I would not recommend this physician to anyone.
