I was diagnose with acute diverticulitis and scheduled a surgery with Dr. Dougherty. Prior to the scheduled date I checked into the emergency room with 100% blockage. Dr Dougherty preformed surgery the same day. Three months later after healing was able to preform a reversal. Through the use of laparoscopy I was able to recover quickly, walking the same day as surgery and checking out of the hospital two days after surgery. Needless to say I am very happy with the results, a new beginning. I have seen other doctors from her group and would recommend the surgeons and their expertise. Thank you Lynda!

Despite a number of factors that could have been major problems with my cancer surgery, Dr. Dougherty spent 8 hours operating on me (instead of the planned 4) until everythign was perfect -- tumor gone, clean margins, everything back together. She is am amazing doctor and I highly recommend her to anyone with problems in the colon/rectal area. She is dedicated, she's super smart, and she cares. You won't find better than Dr. Dougherty.

Dr. Dougherty was treating me for diverticulitis. Because I had a recurrence and it was not responding to medication, Dr. D, on her own initiative, contacted a radiologist to take a look at my C-Scan results. As soon as this meeting/review took place, she called me and told me there was a suspicious place in my abdomen. She got me in immediately for tests. I have now been diagnosed with High Grade Serum Carcinoma. Even though I had confirmed Diverticulitis, she was concerned because the meds weren't working. Thanks to her diligence I'm seeing a surgeon in a few days. I give her "five" stars for following up after visit.

Dr. Dougherty performed two surgeries in 201 as part of my colorectal cancer treatment. She surgically removed a tumor, completed an ilistomy, and (later)reversed the ilistomy. Her professionalisam and technical accumen allowed me to recover normal life as quickly and completely as possible. My situation was dicey; the location of the tumor made it impossible to predict whether I would be able to have the iliostomy reversal or would be using an ostomy bag for the rest of my life. Her surgical skills were evident in the wonderful results. My family was impressed by her attentiveness, the results, and the follow up care and attention.

Went to see Dr Dougherty for my father, who had colon cancer. She spent a lot of time explaining his options in terms everyone could understand. She was warm, caring and was able to do the surgery laproscopically, which was quite a relief considering his age and history of heart disease. Based on my experience, I recommended Dr. Dougherty to a friend who had a complex situation to sort out. Although my friend used another surgeon recommended by Dr. Dougherty for insurance reasons (and he was great), Dougherty took the time to review my friend's results and met with her within days of her call to discuss her situation. Top notch!
