Dr. Lynn Fabish Dahl, DO

Dr. Dahl was my pain doc in Hawaii years and years ago. She was kind and very knowledgeable. If I could travel from Texas to Virginia every month just to have her treat me, I would. Hope all is well Dr. Dahl. Respectfully, Tins Larson

While it may be hard to get your first appt. with Dr. Dahl it is well worth the wait. I have been a patient for 7 years and she has always been more than kind, caring, and willing to work with me and never once lost her paitience. She always runs on time which I love. She has some strict guidelines but I would expect nothing else in a pain mangement doctor. I am happy that she keeps these high standards, it lets me know that she has my health in her concern.

I recently found this website and had to comment on my past experience with this doctor. I went to her seven years ago when I was working. I was having tailbone pain that she treated with an injection..no MRI was ever ordered, after the pain got worse, I tried to get help from her in being able to get medical FMLA so that I could keep my job while investigating the pain issue...she refused to help me with any aspect of that, nor was she willing to support my claims of having substantial pain when I had to file for disabiity. I was turned down and went through years of financial problems, because this doctor refused to do what many doctors do routinely when patients have chronic pain. When I told her how disappointed this made me that I could not get the help from the medical community in verifying my problems, she became angry and threatened to stop my pain meds that I basically depended on to keep me functional. I walked out of her office feeling completely hopeless that day and… wondering if I was not better off dead. Yes, she is that bad...no compassion, no insight, a complete waste of air and space....my outcome? A tumor of the spine...no disability till six years later, but my own determination is leading me to better days...and the nerve damage is finally better, strength is coming back..but I still can't work..I could never recommend a doctor who cares so little about pain and suffering while wearing a white coat..even only we had hindsight..

If you live in the Hampton Newport News area your choice of Pain Management doctors is quite sad. I have no choice but to continue to see her but I'm looking for another dr. even if I have to drive a few hours. She has zero bedside manner. She gave me injections even after I told her they were not working. If you have insurance she loves you and will milk your insurance for all she can. If you don't she will still treat you but you won't get the same care as when you had insurance. She takes "comfort" in the fact that there are very very few pain docs. So really you have no choice but to see her. Keep an eye on your bill her office is known for making errors that leave you with a bill.

Dr. Lynn Dahl is sometimes pleasant but really needs to show a little more compassion with her patients. She does not explain the patients problems well. She is too quick to get you in and out of her office and not give you time to ask questions. No following up as needed after my office visits.
