Thought the recovery was going to be much longer if I would have known how much pain my neck was causing would have done it sooner. Give Dr. Gaufin credit for an excellent surgery and not pushing me to get it before I was ready.

Had a great experience with Dr. Gaufin he did a wonderful surgery on me and put the scar in an existing neck fold. Can't see if from a distance and can barely see it when I move my neck the other way. The pain is gone and I am able to get a good night sleep every night.

After dealing with lower back pain for over 10 years I finally bit the bullet and had the surgery. Dr. Gaufin was wonderful to work with and I am pain free I can't tell you how good it feels to lay down without any discomfort and wake up refreshed. Thank you Dr. Gaufin.

Finally bit the bullet and got surgery after about a decade of dealing with back pain. About three weeks post surgery I woke up with no pain. It’s been over a month since then still going strong. Thank you doctor Gaufin

The absolute worst experience I have ever had. If I could, I would give negative stars. The girls up front don't do what they say and don't know what a phone is. They said that they would email the forms to my wife's email so we could have them done before we got to the doctors office. She never received them, so she called to get them to send the email to her again. She called them 3 times and they never answered so she left a voicemail and spelled out her email so they could get it right. We never heard back from them and never got the email. She called them again to see where they were at 4 times and was put on hold for 30 minutes and left multiple messages. The time came for our appointment and because of construction we were a couple of minutes late so we gave them a courtesy call to let them know and make sure we would still be fine in coming in and they said that it wasn't a problem. We get to the office and the girls ask if we had the forms, and we said no because we never… got them. The girl then gave us attitude acting like we were being a pain. After my wife filled out the forms, they told us the doctor couldn't see us because he had a meeting. We had an appointment set up with him and gave a courtesy call saying we would be a few minutes late. The patient should come before any meeting. We went to the next appointment which didn't go any better. When I asked a few questions, Doctor Gauffin talked down to me as if I was a little child who didn't know anything and acted like I was questioning his authority. He didn't give us any new information and told us we had to go somewhere else to get a shot because he wasn't able to. A NEUROSURGEON should be able to give a shot. We told them where we would like to go to get the shot and they said they would schedule it. It has been about 4 days now and the medical center has not heard from Gauffin or his staff. When we called them to see what was going on, we were put on hold for another 15 minutes. The absolute worst place I have ever been. I would rather sit in the DMV for 2 hours then to ever go back to Dr. Gauffin

Dr. Gaufin has been my husband's doctor since 1981 when he broke his neck. My husband has had one other neck surgery and a back surgery since then. He is the best Doctor I have ever met. He also did back surgery on my mother in 1983. I know of no surgeon who can equal him.

I had a great outcome from a one level lumbar fusion with Dr. Gaufin. I was out of the hospital in a couple of days. Went to therapy and felt better than 100% in about three months. I was in a lot of pain before the surgery and my ability to help out around the house was next to nothing. Now I feel like I can do everything that I did when I was younger. I visited a few different doctors before I decided on letting Dr. Gaufin preform my surgery. He has a great reputation around the state and he lived up to it. His humor is extremely dry so prepare yourself for those jokes after surgery.

I had spondylolisthesis in my lumbar region of my back. Dr. Gaufin was able to fuse the offending vertebrae. I was lucky because I was in a lot of pain but I never took major pain killers because I was afraid of the addiction potential. So once my surgery was done I was feeling really good within about a week. Dr. Gaufin is hard to get into see but if you are really in pain call his office and they can sometimes work you in earlier if you are flexible and willing to come in earlier or late in the day.

I first met Dr. Gaufin about seven years ago after I was in a pretty serious car crash. The trauma from the crash cause some of my discs to herniate. When I first saw Dr. Gaufin I was in a lot of pain and wanted surgery as soon as possible. Dr. Gaufin said I was a surgical candidate but thought physical therapy could help me keep the pain under control. At first the therapy didn't seem to help much but around month three I hardly noticed the pain. I went to a follow up appointment with Dr. Badger and he was delighted to hear the pain was gone. I saw Dr. Gaufin again and he told me if I kept up the exercises that I probably wouldn't need surgery for many years if ever. Unfortunately for me I slipped on some ice last winter on vacation and the tried to catch myself on the way down. That was the last straw for my back. I went to see Dr. Gaufin and he told me surgery was the best option and because I kept up my exercises my recovery should go very smoothly. He was right I had… surgery the first couple days I was in pain but now 6 months post surgery I am doing awesome. I am so grateful for his skills they have kept me active and out of bed.
