Dr. Madeline Rhea Russell, MD

I had a colonoscopy which my primary doctor recommended for a screening which was approved with my insurance. For some reason Dr Russle’s office marked it as diagnostic procedure and my insurance say it’s not covered. I have spent 6mos talking to the hospital and the Doctors office both blaming each other. Her office staff has been very frustrating and not helping me resolve, refusing to send correct documents to the hospital. Would not recommend her based on poor communication and poor documentation to the hospital which has hit my pocket book in a large way.

I found Dr. Russell to be personable. I felt that she listened to me. She performed a procedure on me. I was satisfied with the outcome. However, the office appears to be run poorly. There have been issues with doctor’s orders not being sent to an imaging center and in a timely manner, the office staff can’t answer questions about insurance, and most important, test results are not communicated to me in a timely manner(not sure if the fault is with the doctor regarding that aspect, but a had to leave a few messages, and one staff member didn’t seem to know that I had called.)

Does not seem knowledgeable enough to get basic post visit procedures done. Poor follow up Does not communicate with family and other doctors well.
