I have had many visits with Dr. Thuppal now and he has always given me the time, care and attention I needed. I never feel rushed and he is willing to discuss my needs and carefully assess my situation. I truly feel he genuinely cares as well as the kind employees at the Stern Center. In my early 40's I started having anxiety attacks that seemed to come out of nowhere. It has not been easy, but I feel I am on the road to recovery from my anxiety issues. Thank you, Dr. Thuppal!

If you are looking for someone to coddle you and give you an ego boost, this is not the doctor for you. However, if you’re looking for someone who will cut through the psychobabble and tell it to you straight (which sometimes means some tough love) then he’s your guy. I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD for 20 years. As an adult, the three other psychiatrists I’ve seen have told me I have bipolar, inappropriately medicated me, and treated me like a drug addict when trying to get back on stimulant medication — the only thing that helps me to function on a relatively “normal” level. Dr Thuupal treats me with dignity, but also not with kid gloves. He tells me when I need to suck it up and get it together but he also validated me when I’m in legitimately stressful situations beyond my control and suggests tools beyond medication to get me through. I’ve never had a better psychiatrist in the 20 years I’ve been seeing them.

Dr. Thuppal works with a lot of children so he is very gentle and handles his adults with "kid gloves" which is fine by me. He is very kind and considerate. He takes all the time he needs for a patient without being concerned with keeping a time schedule and rushing you out of there in fifteen minutes or less.

Do not, I repeat, do not entrust your children's mental health to this man. He does not seem to understand that certain meds can have addictive qualities and continues to write scripts when it's made clear by other health officials that it is dangerous for that individual. It seems he's only interested in 'another patient...another dollar' type concept.

Rude, arrogant, inaccurate diagnosis, undermines parents, does inappropriate things, like leaving door opened while speaking to clients which enables the people in the waiting room to hear everything. This man needs to see a psychiatrist himself.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTORFinding a good psychiatrist is crucial when your child has mental health issues, please do not go to this doctor, he gives inaccurate diagnoses, he does not care about the needs of the child, and has done some unethical things during my child's care.

This guy tries to over-medicate children! Stay away, stay far away.

This doctor does not have the courtesy to respond. Although I called him several times, he did not bother to reply. Please dont go here.
