Dr. Madhavi Gaddam, MD

For over five years, my husband and I, now in our eighties, have been going to Dr. Gaddam, when needed, for gastrointestinal-related problems, preventative guidance and follow-up. We are very thankful for her professional, respectful, gentle, caring, very thorough and thoughtful medical care. As an excellent “detective”, she finds the root of our health problems and teaches us appropriate self-care. We are also very fond of the helpers in her office. We highly recommend Dr. Gaddam.

This past year I met with Dr. Gaddam for a procedure. She took time to listen to me and answer my questions at my first appointment, which was an assessment. Then she approved my procedure, which she did later in the year. She and her team were warm, welcoming, and supportive from start to finish. Today I went to a follow-up appointment, and again I felt listened to and that I was a real person to her. I'm grateful that I have access to such great medical care (and insurance!)

Dr Gaddam is extremely thorough! She and her amazing office staff have a wonderful bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable and at ease.

I've been coming to both the Poughkeepsie and Fishkill offices for about 3 years. I've only had the usual issues with doctor's offices: at least a 30-45 minute wait, long waits to check out of appointments. However, I have been dealing with incompetent and uncaring liars in both offices for almost a month. It took two weeks to get a response for an urgent issue from my doctor's assistant. The front desk scheduled an appointment with the wrong practitioner and waited until after hours the Friday before the appointment to tell me they had to cancel the appointment. No one, I mean no one will call my insurance to pre authorize an important test. Do yourself a favor, and don't bother with these people. They have no clue how to do their jobs. They outright promise that they'll do something for me, and then don't do it. Like the other review, I would and will find a new doctor once I get through my illness. The ER is better than this place.

I'm 43 years old. For 13 years I have suffered from "Fibromyalgia" 3 Neurologists, 2 spinal taps, Multiple MRIs, CT scans, many x-rays, , 2 Rheumatologists, 1 Hematologist, (LOTS of blood work there) 2 Primarys.... More tests then I could ever count, Lyrica 3 times a day, Tramadol 3 times a day ( never able to wean off a single dose, because God knows I've tried!) I was nearly bedridden for the first two years after being diagnosed with Lyme Meningitis. Gave up on the Neurologists. Started the Rheumatologist (as per my Primary) was put on Lyrica and Tramadol. Quality of life greatly improved as long as I took the medicine every 8 hours. After missing even a single dose, I got very tired, exhausted actually, my body ached like I had the flu (and I've had the flu, symptoms were very similar) The only other way to describe how I felt was "like getting hit by a Mack truck) Some stomach aches along the way, but my digestion was always pretty normal. A few months back I saw Dr. Gaddam… with a stomach ache. She was SO thorough and honestly I thought it was a bit much, but it was nice to be cared for so thoroughly by a doctor. She is So sweet from the moment you meet her, BIG smile, welcoming voice and a very calming persona. After first round of tests Dr. Gaddam told me I had Celiac Disease, low numbers, but I still needed to go Gluten free. Months later after giving up Gluten (yes, totally ) most of my symptoms are gone! I am still under Dr. Gaddam's care and hope to be for quite a while! BEST GASTROENTEROLOGIST EVER! :)

Dr Gaddam is very nice to talk. She is very thorough and made me at ease. Her findings gave me a closure of issues I have been dealing with. I have seen several doctors before and none of them were able to diagnose my condition. I recommend her highly. She showed great concern and listen to me very patiently.
