Dr. Madhu Mehta, MD

I wish I would have read reviews before seeing this doctor. I went in with a list of concerns and questions. Instead of listening she told me in not so many words that I was fat, judged my tattoos by suggesting I had hepatitis then proceeded to diagnose without ANY lab work done first. Seeking another RA specialist currently who will listen and take the time to do homework on patient....new patients be warned. Bedside manner sucks!

This doctor completely blew me off. She said my symptoms were "normal aches and pains," and kept telling me to "eat less red meat," even though I've been a vegetarian for over 10 years. Well, after suffering for 2 more years after this doctor completely ignored me, I ended up being diagnosed with the autoimmune disease scleroderma by a new primary care doctor and a new rheumatologist. Positive ANA test, and positive test for the anti-SCL 70 antibody, two tests which this doctor did not perform. Indeed, she did NO tests, and told me nothing was wrong with me, therefore postponing my diagnosis of a very serious condition for 2 more years.

Probably one of the most unprofessional doctors around. She would not listen to my problems and wouldn't even let me speak.

Been to see her three times. Knows about Fibromyalgia, and is understanding. she has been very helpful!

This was my first visit with Dr Mehta and I almost cancelled because of other reviews. So glad I didn't! I have seen 3 other doctors for my painful muscles. Numerous test and x-rays were taken but with no diagnosis. I asked to be transferred to a physician within the OHio State system and was sent to Dr Mehta. She spent time reviewing my history, test results, and talking to me about my symptoms. She believes it is polymylagia rheumaticia and will treat me for this. I can't confirm that she's correct yet but I do at least feel hopeful. She feels it can be helped with treatment and i have confidence in her. Will start treatment and see her again in 6 weeks. I'll report back. Reviews of a doctor can be very helpful but don't miss a good one by having a closed mind.

Would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Felt the doctor was very rude and didn't want to listen to me at all.

I have been with Dr. Mehta for a few years now. She takes the time to know me and what concerns I have and to make sure that she has answered any questions I have. She gives me information on my treatment options and asks for my input.

At our appointment Dr. Mehta focused the vast majority of her time expressing disbelief rather than analyzing information and exploring possible scientific explanations. My hands and feet swell every time I sleep and all blood tests for inflammation came back negative. I gave her very detailed information on the symptoms and Dr Mehta could have asked for more but instead, in her report, chose to classify my symptoms as "subjective" ... "with no clinical evidence". In our meeting I stated that I would like Dr Mehta to address the cause of the swelling and whether it is causing long term damage. In her report she slanted my questions negatively as she claimed I was "anxious" to know these things. It is my opinion that during and after our meeting Dr. Mehta did not _sincerely_ attempt to provide the best available scientific explanations for my symptoms.

She does not listen to you, does not explain herself about your condition, she changes meds w/out telling you why, and made me feel bad about myself for not exercising. Not caring at all.

She doesn't listen to the issues that you are having. terrible overtalker.
