Dr. Madhuri Dhupati

Dr Dhupati has been my doctor for over a year. She has helped me understand my health challenges better than my prior doctors (when I lived in another state). She really cares and takes time to talk with me. She understands what I prefer and does not try to push in another direction. She always state her mind in a helpful way. Which I appreciate. Her staff is very helpful as well. I receive call backs promptly and I can always make an appointment within a reasonable period of time. I am very thankful for the change in my life with Dr Dhupati's help. I would highly recommend her .

I just visited Dr Dhupati for my annual physical which i have also done for the last nineteen years and continue to be very pleased with the personal care that i receive from her.

Dr. dhupati is an amzing physician who truly cares about her patients

Dr. Dhupati has been my primary care physician since I moved to AZ over 20 years ago. Whether she is tending to a simple sprain or an extensive stay at an ICU, Dr. Dhupati has always guided me with comfort, compassion, and patience. Referrals are provided promptly when required, along with a follow-up. Dr. Dhupati is my 'forever' physician. When she took the Hippocratic Oath, she meant it!

I would NEVER EVER recommend Dr.Dhupati to anyone! The first appointment I had there she was less than polite and almost never listened to a word I said. So I left that appointment and the next appointment I needed my prescriptions refilled and even though I wasn't sick I knew that this was her rules so my husband and I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt regarding my last visit and maybe she just had a bad day. Unfortunately the first thing she said to me when she came into the office was, " I'm not a pharmacy you know, so why are you here?!" Very very snarky! I told her I was instructed to come in because she insisted on seeing me before she filled my prescriptions and that I was not sick so what am I to do, I could make something up but I think that's a bad idea. Again, very rude she never responded to that other than to tell me she'd fill my prescriptions but that I was to come in within 3 months to get a well-woman exam no matter what. Which was fine with me no problem I… told her but then the pandemic hit! I have 5 autoimmune diseases and am on several immune suppressant drugs and my specialist told me I was not to leave the house under any circumstances. Again my family doctor refused to fill my medications even after me telling them that because of the pandemic I couldn't leave the house and I wasn't willing to play Russian Roulette with my and that all of my other doctors were doing telephone appointments. The response I got was that she would call in a 30-day prescription but that she was discharging me or firing me from her office. When I asked the receptionist why she was doing it she wouldn't respond other than to say I was fired. I don't know about you but I have zero respect for a doctor who fires someone during a pandemic that cannot leave her house.

She was abrupt and rude and actually quite offensive. I had provided her with information about supplements I take for longevity. She advised me "we're all going to die". Well thanks, doc, but guess what? The landscape is changing and I didn't ask for, nor require, a lecture from her on that topic. Ironically, how I first became acquainted with indefinite life-span issues was from Dr. Deeprok Chopra. One would think she might have a little more understanding of the area, since Chopra is also Indian.

I enjoy seeing Dr. Dhupati - who always remembers me (seeing me once a year) and we have a good talk and a good annual checkup! Her office is friendly and caring.

Dr Dhupati does not follow up with her patients. Called the office to say I was having a bad reaction to medication that she prescribed. 2 days later an assistant called back to say "Dr. Dhupati said you can stop taking the medication.'' That's it, nothing more. I made an appointment a year later and called my new insurance to make sure she was on the list of accepted doctors, she was. Got to the appointment and was told by the front office that their billing department was flagging my insurance as out-of-network. I said fine, I will pay for the appointment and deal with the insurance. Front office said ''No, we don't take cash paymnets, we can't see you.'' Their website clearly states they take cash, credit cards, checks. Hired a babysitter to waste an entire morning and be turned away. The front staff is just as cold as Dr. Dhupati. Find another practice that is easy to work with and more caring.

My review is mainly for the office staff. I do want to say I like Dr. Dhupati and have been a patient for several years and have seen many staff come and go. This is the worst staff ever. Be prepared to call in your prescription refills to your pharmacy at least a week in advance IF they need doctor approval first. Don't wait until the last minute because the staff needs to be called, and called again until finally you reach a live person and then they get snide with you and tell you they've sent it in and really they haven't otherwise it would be ready 4 days ago when you submitted it the first time! Placed on hold forever.. disconnected, called back, placed on hold again for a long time, just to make an appointment. Lab work papers, it took over a week to get them sent and I was told the staff would send them right after we hung up. The reminder phone calls are tiresome and frustrating. Then my last complaint is they never return my phone calls. I leave a message… and wait and wait and wait so I have to call back and by this time I'm upset because nobody bothered to call me. I have spoken to the doctor regarding her staff. It is my hope that she has an office huddle or hires an office manager who can efficiently supervise the office staff and help answer phones and return calls. It shouldn't be this difficult to get prescriptions, labs or appointments. Do what you say you are going to do because it affects the patient and reflects poorly on the office staff as a whole. Looking for a new doctor is such a hassle, but if things don't change I feel I may need to.

Dr. Dhupati always gets me in for an appointment the day or if I call later in the day, the next day. She is very thorough and knowledgable. I've been going to get her for about 9 years and have recommended her to a lot of my friends. If you are looking for a dr who cares about her patience, look no further. Dr. Dhupati is amazing!
