Dr. Maher H Saloum, MD

I found Dr. Saloum while looking for a new primary care physician after my previous physician, who'd treated me for almost 35 years retired from practicing medicine. After leaving the US Marine Corps, I began a career in Law Enforcement, which unfortunately after almost 2 decades of service exposed me to a lot of very difficult & traumatic experiences. I've seen things that I can't unsee & experienced things that over time affected me more than I realized, despite how "tough" I'd been trained to be emotionally. As a result I have to be treated with several different medications, a couple of which are controlled medications that I found most Doctors don't want to & largely won't prescribe, despite their determination that those medication's are necessary for the proper treatment of my condition out of fear they'll be over scrutinized by the State & Federal Government. Without those medication's, which I'd been on for several years, I would have been forced to leave the career I love &… faced a lifetime of simply suffering. I went to multiple & I mean multiple Doctors, all of whom agreed on my diagnoses & even that I in fact absolutely needed to be kept on my current medications & treatment, however they absolutely would not prescribe them. Then I found Dr. Saloum & I am so incredibly grateful & blessed that I did. Dr. Saloum gave me a full medical examination, listened very sincerely & intently to what I had to say & he had the courage of his conviction as a physician to keep me on my course of treatment & continued all of my medications, including adding one that none of the other Doctors thought of, in addition to continuing my current meds. I can't describe what a difference that has made for me & if it weren't for Dr. Saloum & his wonderful staff I wouldn't have been able to continue with my career. Thanks to his dedication to his patients I'm in a much better place now than I was even before my prescription doctor retired. Thank you Dr. Saloum & God Bless you! I was very happy with staff and Dr Saloum was very attentive. He pinpointed problem that several Drs have missed. I would definitely recommend this Dr!

I came here due to an illness an urgent clinic couldn't pinpoint. Dr. Saloum's team had me do an X-Ray then called me saying "as you know, there's a growth in your chest" (I didn't know) and that's what began a 4-month STRUGGLE to get all of my scans and biopsy to confirm it was cancer. I even had to go into Dr. Saloum's office twice to watch his staff forward my info to surgeons as it would sit on the desk for days....even a week once. Initially, the hodgkin's lymphoma was only in my chest...by the time I started treatment, it was in my neck too. The amazing staff at the START Center for Cancer Care had called the office DAILY for exactly a week and Dr. Saloum's office would not answer. One time I called and the receptionist said they had just spoken with the START center and sent all my information over.....the next morning, Ann from the START center called me to say she hadn't been able to get ahold of anyone at Saloum's office. If I hadn't been persistent, and my boss… hadn't let me leave work to watch Dr. Saloum's staff do their job, who knows if I'd have made it to treatment in time. They were completely indifferent to my situation. The staff and Dr. Saloum literally doesn't care that you're dying. Go. Elsewhere.

Dr. Saloum has a great personality, he takes his time with you, listens to you. You leave his office knowing he has your best interest in mind. Takes very good care of your needs

Dr. Saloum is a very intuitive Doctor. I went through many doctors before I found him. He has treated me for a variety of issues and has kept me functional when I was at my worst. He is very understanding and accommodating as well as compassionate. He helped greatly improve the quality of my life. In addition, his staff are extremely sweet and helpful. I am very thankful for them.

yes I would choose this doctor again. He is very professional. He knows what he is doing. He is friendly He staff is wonderful.

I have seen Dr. Saloum 3 times. One of the visits was for my son. Everything went great except for trying to get our prescriptions. They insisted on calling it in to my pharmacy. Each time I saw him and got prescriptions, it took over a week to actually get the Rx to my pharmacy, even with me bugging them. One time I never did get the Rx and just gave up. Then my son got an x-ray, and I could not get a call back to give me the results. It took 10 days of calling to get the Dr. to tell me everything was okay. I was prescribed birth control which is a very important medicine to me. It took 2 weeks for them to get it to my pharmacy. Of course I didnt have birth control for that month because they waited too long and you can't start the medicine in the middle of a cycle. THEN, there was no refill on it (which I've never seen with birth control since it's important and must be taken very steadily) so I had to request a refill. It's been 8 days since I requested a refill and over that… period of time, I've called several times and was told twice that it would be taken care of within the hour. She assured me she would call right back if there was any problem. Now, in the past 3 days, nobody will answer their phone except for the actual Dr. this morning, who told me to call back in 30 min when his secretary arrived. They didn't answer when I called back. It's been too long to start up my birth control this month AGAIN, so my cycle will be irregular again and of course, I don't have birth control again. I was very nice and never rude when I was able to reach them so it wasn't that. The people and the Dr. were really nice, thorough and likeable, until it comes to being treated. How can you get treated if they won't give you your medicine or answer their phone? I can't honestly recomend this Dr. as I still can't get my very important basic Rx refill, which should've had refills on it in the first place. I will most likely find a new Dr. and get a new prescription from there before I'm able to reach Dr. Saloum again. I really liked him but this is just ridiculous and I feel like they don't care about me. I've never been rude and It's not like they're a real busy office. I understand mistakes happen but every time for 7+ days? They would've completely forgot about me if I hadn't been calling. It was a waste of time and money, so beware the issue of getting your Rx in a timely manner from them and contacting them... Was really disappointing ð???
