Dr. Mahesh Gupta, PhD

I reached out to Dr. Gupta in hopes of obtaining my medical records so I could give them to my new provider. He was extremely rude, and told me several times I was burdening him by making him do this. He also informed me that if I ever wanted them I would need to pay him 100$ for his added work of having to put my records into a computer system because he only keeps it on paper. He told me he sees no point in me obtaining my records and I don’t need to have them and if I didn’t like it I should contact an attorney. He then hung up on me. He was extremely rude and unprofessional and as someone who works in the field of psychology you would think that he would be a little kinder to his patients who have mental health issues. He has caused me severe distress because of this incident and all I wanted was to give my new doctor my medical history.

I only saw the psychologist twice. I don’t understand how this man claims to be a psychologist. He is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I was going with my husband to see him but after my last session by myself he left me feeling degraded and humiliated. While in my session I was talking about my marital problems and he told me that I was nothing and in the case of a divorce I would have nobody and would be left alone. He was practically said that I couldn’t complain about my husband and I had to just deal with it. He proceeded to humiliate me because of my accent and told me to study on dictionary.com. He told me that no one would understand me or believe me because of my accent. His job was not to make fun of me and my accent, it was to help me with my marital problems. Which he did not do. So instead of helping me he left me feeling embarrassed and extremely upset. I wouldn’t recommend this psychologist to anyone at all.
