Dr. Malcolm Mcburney Riggs, MD

Dr. Riggs aided in my moms opiate addiction by continuing to prescribe her opiates that she was abusing. When no other doctors would give them to her anymore he did. He also gave me a random physical when I did not go there for one. He felt my whole body, touched my boobs. And when I went back to get a copy of my physical there was not one on file. This man deserves to be locked up.

I've been going to Dr.Riggs for over 15 years. Back when he was in a group practice in Marion, before he opened up a private practice in Palmyra. Right from the start he treated me on my needs, not the ailment. If that makes any cents to anyone, you will understand. He has always steered me the right way. Explains reasons and why things happen and not talk over my head medically speaking. Not a fan of the dog, but not enough to bother me. If I didn't like it, there are other doctors without dogs in the office. My expectations of him were always met. I know he is only a general practitioner, not a specialist. He was never afraid to send me to the best specialist to diagnose and treat my ailment.

Came highly recommended. Not sure why.. goes off on tangents completely unrelated to visit issues. Only wants to look at test results, not how I am feeling.. Also only wants to look at a specific few, vs the full panel of lab tests needed to properly monitor my progress. Suggests other specialists vs listening to me.

Dr Riggs was able to help me with a chronic problem that two other doctors had basically dismissed. .

His bed side manner is creepy, his staff is rude, amd the place smells like a wet dog. I have a few friends that go to him only because he'll give them any narcotic they want, and say he's an idiot. He should be investigated and shut down asap, he's probqblt making money on the side pushing narcotics as well, he's not a good Dr, so he's gotta fall back on something.

I've only seen Dr. Riggs twice, but I'm very impressed with his professionalism and his bedside manner. Each time I've seen him, he diagnosed conditions that other doctors didn't get quite right. His diagnosis and treatment were perfect both times. I very much respect him and plan to see him for a long time!

Caring and professional; I changed doctors after getting increasingly frustrated with a local clinic. The clinic staff refused to return phone calls or to follow up on tests. Dr Riggs has been a pleasure to work with; thorough and informed. I believe his patients really matter to his office, as opposed to being just another billable appointment. I am really happy I switched.
