Dr. Maliha Akbar, MD

The office workers are terrible here. Akbar is fine during appointments. Like most doctors she has to refer most of the time, but sometimes her referrals are pretty bad, and I went a year with an obvious hernia not being diagnosed by anyone, that includes her and the people she kept referring me to and the tests she kept referring me for - tons of unnecessary and time wasting appointments for what should have been obvious given my description of symptoms. So, overall I'd say Dr. Akbar is "ok." Worst though is how the office behaves when it comes to prescriptions. The latest being holding my medicine hostage demanding I make an unnecessary well visit at the height of the pandemic. I left countless messages on the portal without any communication from Dr. Akbar herself. I had to go find another doctor, because I was so tired of just begging for my medicine while explaining over and over how I was not comfortable coming in at the height of a pandemic.
