Dr. Mandeep S. Virk, MD

Not a bad doctor, but boy did he rush the appointment. To add insult to injury, I waited 1 hour to be seen and over 2 hours for an X-ray and the administrative staff did not apologize or explain. Had a better experience at Mount Sinai. Go there instead if you can.

When I saw Dr Virk he gave me the confidence to go through with my surgery, unlike previous consultations with other doctors. Surgery was quick, and practical little pain during recovery Staff was very professional (hannah and richard). Office called many times before surgery to make sure everything went smoothly. Dr Virk even came and spoke to me after the surgery. Follow up appointments have been great so far. Dr Virk did indeed deliver what he promised Would recommend to anyone, over and over a million times.

Said I had tendinitis and rushed me out of the office. He couldn't care less about me.

He was great. I had a bad shoulder injury and Dr. Virk repaired it. He is friendly, professional, caring, nice. The entire NYU orthopedic unit and staff were great. I highly recommend him. Feel so fortunate to have had him as a surgeon.

I went to MD Virk for evaluation and then later with another orthopedist for a fractured shoulder ribs & sternum due to a car accident. I will describe what happened with both MD's and you could make your determination if you would use his services. MD Virk looked at 2 x-rays and requested for me to return in a month to see if PT or a full shoulder replacement would be indicated. He indicated that he expected with either treatment not to recover full range of motion. When asked if he could write a letter to my employer to excuse me from work, he said that he could only write that I could not use my left arm which is in a sling but would not indicate that I needed to be out of work. He said a social worker did not need two hands to work and that it would be up to my supervisor to excuse me. When I went to the second orthopedist, he requested a CT scan and x-rays to make a full determination. He indicated that he could repair the fracture and if not do a Reverse Shoulder Replacement… where I could expect a better chance of full range of motion then then the classical shoulder replacement. He said he would give me letters to my employer excusing me from my work assignment for as long a time as necessary for my shoulder to heal and the pain goes away. I had the operation with this MD and he was able to repair my shoulder. I am waiting for the shoulder to heal which could take a while. I felt the tone of the evaluation was a little more informative, assuring & friendly then with MD Virk.

It is now a little over a year and I am doing handstands, back levers, and even 1 arm balances better than ever before. I am so grateful for the work that Dr. Virk did on my arm. We met and spoke several times before the surgery. He followed up with my along the entire path of recovery. My questions were always welcomed and answered in a way that I could understand and that I felt Dr. Virk had great knowledge in what he was doing.
