Dr. Mangla Sood Gulati, MD

Please stay away from this doctor as she is not qualified nor an appropriate physician. My mother was a patient at UMMC during the pandemic on the 5th floor for a Spinal Surgery. During my mother’s time there, she was abused and neglected. One of the staff members named Melissa Weygant tried to attack my mother when I asked for a new nurse and tried to report what happened. The charge nurse named Natalie Elliott allowed for this person to continue to come back to her room after I told her not to come back. The staff then retaliated on my mom for complaining about her treatment by having her bed tray pushed far from her reach, did not take her to the bathroom(left urine stains on her back), allowed her blood pressure to drop at low levels, and refused to get lab work that the acting physician asked for. My mom complained about being sick and nobody did anything except give her Tylenol . No test were ran to find out the cause of fever .PT/OT even fraudulently stated that they worked… with my mom when they didn’t. We were told that her her prescription to go to rehab was denied by insurance but the insurance said that was a lie. The case manager Charlotte Pappas and SW Maya Jefferson put in records that my mom was ready to go home and progressed even though my moms health was declining. She was discharged with no equipment.My mom was on the verge of death because of the care. My mother had to transported to Northwest Hospital twice due to passing out from an infection she contracted from UMMC and falling from being dumped without proper equipment. Staff members even lied and said that I spoke with them when I didn’t. When I tried to report these incidents to officials Marmie Fischer, Kerry Sobol RN and Cindy Dove RN, they tried to insinuate that I was a liar and I was told by Ms. Sobol that she could change things in the records when I pointed out fraud. I told her that was illegal and I asked for different agencies contact info and she refused. I told her that I would be reporting them and the staff to the State Board.A week later , I received a letter from Dr. Mangla Gulati trying to cover up the situation for her friends/coworkers even when I told Ms. Sobol I did not want to speak to her. Gulati kept repeating in her letter that she was in charge of safety and quality but only added lies. The staff didn’t even document certain things and she said even though that note wasn’t added that “I expect that that situation occurred”. I ended up finding more fraudulent claims throughout the record. This woman is a liar and needs to have her license taken. Find someone else while the state is investigating this matter for your own sake. If this person was not even my mother’s physician and she lied to me, what would she do to her own patients. Stay away and if not watch everything that she performs and puts in your records. People who are considered vulnerable are at a higher risk. She is definitely more concerned with profit than the wellbeing and safety of the patients.
