Dr. Manhui Liu

I believe a horrifyingly aggressive and careless teeth cleaning by Mandy caused the enamel to be scraped off of my big front tooth #9, leaving my once perfectly formed and healthy tooth now looking concave and mishapened. When I showed the tooth, along with before/after photos, to Dr. Liu, she denied seeing any difference despite the photos clearly showing otherwise. The X-rays consulted were difficult for me to read. At Dr. Liu’s urging, I sought a second opinion from another dentist who acknowledged the “concavity” in my tooth and she also noticed that it was lacking “bulk”. She conceded that X-rays did not guarantee accuracy and were not always reliable. Everyone I showed my photos from before and after the teeth cleaning noticed the obvious, altered shape of my tooth. Everyone except Dr. Liu. Moreover, after the incredibly rough teeth cleaning, I could still see a shocking amount of tartar all over my teeth. The right corner of my mouth was left painfully red and raw… as well. I think it is outrageous that not only did Mandy miss the tartar, but Dr. Parsa, who examined my teeth after the cleaning, also failed to catch it or address it. And, when I pointed out the lingering tartar to Dr. Liu, she did nothing about it, either. I’m hoping by sharing my nightmare of an experience with what was supposed to be a simple, routine teeth cleaning could prevent this from happening to anyone else. This was a very difficult review for me to write as I am still trying to come to terms with the unimaginable and irreversible change done to my tooth at MDA.
