Dr. Manindra Nath Ghosh, MD

I went to Dr. Ghosh due to experiencing pretty terrible environmental allergies and looking for the possibility of other treatment options beyond what I was already doing. He performed a general skin test and diagnosed me with 10-12 FOOD allergies (I'd never had problems with food before, and ate many of those items that week). He did follow up testing which I assumed would be to further explore my environmental allergy issues, but the whole follow up test was on more foods. I ended up being "diagnosed" with more than 20 food allergies, but received no guidance on the environmental allergies for which I went in. I went to another allergist to get a second opinion, and that allergist re-did all my testing and confirmed what I originally thought--I have serious environmental allergies to pollen, dust mites, animals, but ZERO food allergies. zero. Looking over my medical records, my new allergist was astounded as to the testing practices Dr. Ghosh used and the standards in which… he scored them (and the fact he was testing me for food allergies to begin with). Dr. Ghosh seems like a nice enough guy, but in my experience (and others I've since met since, who have also received a second opinion), 3 months of my life was spent in completely unnecessary food trialing which not only is stressful in itself but takes a toll on your grocery budget (and your social life) as well.
