Dr. Manish Suresh Noticewala

Do NOT go to Manish S Noticewala at Wellstar Douglas Medical Center. I had an incident occurr during an UNESSESSARY wound cleaning procedure, done by him which resulted in a breach of safety practices and unnecessary harm. I went to WellStar Douglas Medical Center seeking medical attention for a wound infection and received 7 days of treatment. I was cleared by my main care provider but, I could not be released due to his "concern" although we believe his interest was to receive payment. On the last day, during the procedure conducted by him several alarming actions took place, indicative of negligence and disregard for safety and hygienic protocols. He failed to adhere to basic safety practices and procedures during treatment. This includes inadequate sterilization of instruments and lack of appropriate protective gear. He entered the room with gloves already on and touched several surfaces including chairs, the bed, door handles and even placed unsterilized instruments on the bed… this including the 2 1/2 qt bottles of solution and tip used to insert INSIDE the almost closed wound. He forcefully reopened the basically healed wound by probing and pushing the nozzle into the skin. Despite my discomfort and explicit concerns, He continued to flush the solution inside while some of it even splattered on the bed. He let go of the bottle solution INSIDE THE WOUND and blood would flow back inside the bottle. On the second bottle he pushed even deeper inside causing me to cry from the pain. After all was done, he had no gauze, antibiotic, or a nurse on hand. My husband had to seek for them so he could wrap my arm up. These action not only caused extreme pain but also increased the risk of infection by introducing contaminants or exacerbating the injury. The aforementioned actions not only resulted in physical discomfort and distress but also raised serious concerns regarding the quality of care provided by and the overall safety standards upheld by this doctor.

I feel I did not receive adequate pain medicine after my surgery...I was awake 3 night and days in pain with my knee surgery...and still in the hospital...so not like I was driving

Dr. Noticewala is an AMAZING Orthopedic Surgeon! My son started his senior year of high school with a lateral femural condyle osteochondral fracture; a rare and severe knee fracture that most orthopedic surgeons wouldn't even touch! Dr. Noticewala completed his surgery successfully and was wonderful throughout his entire recovery process. Dr. Noticewala truly goes above and beyond for his patients; he truly cares and he has incredible bedside manner! He thoroughly explains everything and takes the time to answer all your questions. He's #1 in my book and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM to anyone!

I had been seeing Dr. Noticewala for nearly 1 year for right shoulder pain. He diagnosed me with severe arthritis and a chronic rotator cuff tear. For years, I was unable to lift my arm and the pain was getting so bad that I could not sleep. We tried to avoid surgery but I did respond well to medication, cortisone injections, and shoulder physical therapy. Although I was hesitant about undergoing surgery, Dr. Noticewala explained that a shoulder replacement would alleviate my pain and allow me to lift my arm. He was extremely patient and informative in describing the surgery, hospital stay, and rehab. He put me at significant ease heading into the surgery and even called me the night before surgery. I am 4 months removed from my surgery date and am thrilled with getting the surgery done. My shoulder pain disappeared the day after surgery! After completing physical therapy, I am now able to raise my arm and move it in ways that I had not been able to do for years! He has transformed my… life- I am participating in activities and engaging with my grandchildren in ways that I could not do before the surgery. I am so lucky to have found Dr. Noticewala- I will be forever grateful for what he has done for me.

After hurting my elbow, i suffered for a few days and got the run around from multiple doctors. One of my buddies with a similar issue referred me to Dr. Noticewala. The guy is an all-star! He made the diagnosis right away, got me an MRI the same day, and did surgery to fix my biceps tendon 3 days later, all while COVID was going on. I had no pain after surgery and completed rehab the way he wanted. I have no elbow pain and full power of my biceps muscle! The man is smart- he knows what he is doing. I have referred many friends to him since and all have agreed.

Dr. Noticewala is friendly and thorough. He diagnosed my shoulder issue. I have been having horrible shoulder pain for years. I ultimately underwent a shoulder replacement. He put me at ease prior to the surgery by reviewing all the details of the surgery and the recovery. He even called me the night before surgery. After surgery, I was cured- I had no pain immediately following surgery. I did not require any narcotic medications after surgery- only needed Tylenol for a few. He is amazing! I wish I had met him years ago.

He was terrific! He told me my issue and I will follow his recommendations.
