I was recently seen at a Medical Center physician’s office in Hawthorne for a follow-up appointment related to a prior neurological hospital visit. Before the physician entered, I met with a physician assistant who was attentive and made me feel heard and understood. However, when the physician entered the room, she asked the PA how much longer the visit would take and then asked her to step to speak privately. When Dr. Holmes returned with the PA, her demeanor was noticeably different. She put on a mask, sat across from me, and communicated in a way that felt sarcastic and condescending. I left the interaction feeling dismissed, as though my concerns were not being taken seriously—particularly because my situation did not align with what appeared to be her expected presentation. I traveled a significant distance for this appointment, hoping for clarity and support, but instead left feeling frustrated and discouraged. As a result of this experience, I am hesitant to seek care through… Westchester Medical Center physicians in the future.
