Dr. Mansfield F W Smith, MD

The most memorable thing about Dr. Smith was the extent that he shook (from old age apparently) when I went in for a follow up on a stapedectomy that was totally botched, although they all lied about it (they dropped the 1st prosthetic device in my middle ear, had to run and get another one, making the operation over four hours - I woke up and vomited for several minutes - they kept on lying about their mistakes and the botched operation - on up the the head of the department explaining to me that obviously I was not a good candidate for the operation (apparently their mistake proved that). Years later I am still untangling the mess - UCD ENT offices were dirty, the place was unorganized (hours waiting for a simple visit), and unprofessional (medical assistants with crappy attitudes (and no wonder - the place is terrible) - had I known how badly this would go, I would have never gone here (I would have gone to UCSF).

I had 2 stapedectomies on my ear before being referred to Dr. Smith who fixed both ears over 20 years ago. He is the best.
