Dr. Marc Difazio, MD

Dr. DiFazio treated my son for seizures in the ER and we have followed up with him in his office. Very caring doctor, great personality and takes the time to explain things so I fully understand. Highly recommend!!

I find Dr. Difazio to be warm and caring and just what I need when facing the stressful unknowns related to my son's epilepsy. He is very knowledgeable and he listens to my concerns and explains the treatment plan thoroughly to make sure I understand and feel comfortable. He's very hands on. He's emailed me just to check in on my son's status, he's arranged appointments after his normal hours, he's even seen my son on Saturdays. I really trust him and I really feel safe with him.

After my child endured a concussion, the ER doctors referred us to Dr. DiFazio for a follow-up appointment the next day. My child had fallen, hit their head, blacked out, threw up three times, had an extreme headache, was disoriented for two days, and was extremely fatigued for several days. Point being, their concussion was significant. Dr. DiFazio recommended the opposite of the ER docs. In fact, the medical community consensus is that children should abstain from physical activity - and some mental activity - for 5-7 days after symptoms subside. However, Dr. DiFazio ordered my child to return to all normal activity in two days, if not sooner. He cited a paper he co-wrote that argues for this practice. As a parent, I found his advice to be counter intuitive, counter to medical consensus, and irresponsible. If a person sustains a second bump to the head after a concussion, risks for further damage to the brain quickly escalate.

This doctor is very hard to reach

very unprofessional-does not return phone calls. called & emailed almost everyday for 4 weeks & only got test results for our child after our family physician called him

Dr Difazio came highly recommended. He has an impressive record of achievements and I deeply respect his service in the armed forces. Our son had a seizure one morning and naturally his mother and I panicked and ran to the emergency room. Long story short, he has epilepsy. We went to Dr Difazio and initially were very happy with the examination and his patient manner in answering all of our questions. He started out as a great doctor for our son. However for reasons that are not clear to us, his manner, specifically his attention, became very distracted. Increasingly we had to tell Dr Difazio the medicines our son was on and his past history. That struck us as wrong. Shouldnt the Doctor who specializes in this care be able to read a folder to bring himself up-to-date? Correspondingly our confidence in Dr. Difazios care for our son hit rock bottom. We had to call to get information and wait days, and sometimes weeks, for a suitable response. That was the last straw. … Epilepsy is not an urgent, life threatening situation. But good medical attention is not a privilege its a responsibility.

Dr Difazio did not take the time to read my child's MRI and one month after having this procedure done and being sedated I was told she would only need to be observed and that since her EEG had been normal I should not worry. MInd you, I took the MRI CD given to me by the hospital nurses to Dr Difazio's office 1 day she had the procedure done. His response when I told him this was and said that I wish he would have read it was, "WELL... I DIDN'T." He was arrogant and unkind and I will be filing a complaint with the board tomorrow.

Dr. DiFazio came highly recommended by our GP. Our son is an epileptic and we went to Dr DiFazio for diagnosis and treatment. After testing we met with Dr. DiFazio. He came across as competent and helpful. We started our son on a medicine that could help control his seizures. Unfortunately it did not work and we tried several more. In discussions with friends it was clear that finding the right medicine(s) can take time. However after several years of treatment we noticed that Dr. DiFazio was not at all connected to our case. Each time we saw, emailed (through his private web portal) or called, we had to tell Dr. DiFazio what medicine our son was on and recap the past history. It was not a good experience for us and did little to help our son's condition.

At at time that is very scary for my family and I, Dr. Difazio has been a big, calming help. While we still have not found out the problem with my daughter, I am very impressed with Dr. Difazio's thoroughness and caring manner.

Dr. DiFazio is honest, extremely helpful, has great followup, and has helped our child in two very difficult situations. I would recommend him to anyone.
