Dr. Marc L Slatkoff, MD

Slatkoff called me at home and told me I had 6 months to live in 1999 (17 years ago). I am still here and continue to do well.

Excellent Dr. He tells you like it is and makes an effort to make sure you understand the diagnosis. I would recommend him to anyone in my family and any of my friends. Very caring and compassionate. He never grows tired of me asking the same questions over and over. I believe quality of life is tied in with your family, your friends and your faith in your health care team. I am blessed to have a caring loving care team and of course a loving God who holds me close whenever I get scared.

This "doctor" was my step-father's oncologist for less than two months. The third time my step-father was in his office he bought up the idea of hospice. This last time my step-father was in his office he was told that there was nothing else he could do and we were given a pink paper to give to hospice when they came to our home. My step-father was sent to the chemo to be given fluids that day. While we were in the chemo room, he came in almost skipping and very happy as he picked up another pink hospice paper sheet to give to another declining patient and said " I'm on a role today". This "doctor" has no sympathy for his patients at all. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy.

This so-called doctor let my brother who had multiple myeloma die in just 11 months of this year. He and another female oncologist gave him nothing but contradictory information and they did nothing to treat him and he suffered great pain because of this unprofessionalism. I would not recommend him to anyone.

He is taking care of my 88 year old father for anemia (complicated type) and he is very caring, makes sure we have all questions answered and also does not want to do treatments that would be risky for his age unless he has to.He also made it plain one time that one treatment he wanted to do might be hard to get paid for due to insurance but he would get his staff to work on getting it approved. I could tell that it upset him that an insurance company would get in the way of what he considered the best care for his patient. He has excellent bedside manner and truly cares about his patients.
