I had a heart attack and was told I had 100 Blockage in my LAD. First I was told there was nothing they could do because of the location and they could not see where the blockage ended. I went through massive testing and was told they had good news and I was to have open heart and would be transported to St. Joseph......UGH Two days before open heart Dr. Unterman went beyond what most would do and went back in to see If he could see a way to break through the blockage. After several long hours of hard work HE DID! My Angel!. Eight (8) yrs later under his care, I am doing fantastic! Thank you Dr. Unterman! I will always be grateful to you.

Dr. Unterman is the best. He always spends enough time with me to discuss all of my concerns and answer all of my questions. He is particularly good at explaining all of the conflicting information we get from the media regarding heart disease and treatment.

After two hospitals another surgeon came in and told me that Dr. Unterman (5th Surgeon) looked at my test and wanted to do the same cath that was done on Monday because he thought he saw something on the test. Well I was taken to the third hospital right into the Cath Prep Room and taken in the surgery room. There I heard him say "I love it when my hunches are right! I knew that this was good news. Dr. Unterman told me he was able to break through the blockage and put a stent in and I was not going to have to have open heart surgery. I told him he was my Angel and cried. I cannot tell you the care I receive from Dr. Unterman and the gratitude I will always have for him. He is such a good and… caring surgeon that I trust him with my life. He is the one who took the chance where no one would!!!
