Dr. Marcela Vago Young, MD

I've been going to Dr Young for years. She's a wealth of knowledge, spends quality time with you, takes same day appt. Her staff is very friendly and helpful. I've referred many friends and family to her and will continue to do so. She balanced my hormones and gave me my life back!

Dr. Young is a sincerely caring doctor who, along with her knowledge of how to treat disease, gives patients the tools to help themselves.

Dr. Young is nice enough if you don't mind that she doesn't listen. She believes in no side effects and if she says she's going to refer you to another doctor or service, she never does. There is a general slackness and while I think the office could be really excellent, it never will be if the doctor is rarely present and doesn't take more of an interest in following through on what she says she will do. Never walk out without an Rx because she's equally as slack about sending in Rx's when she says she will! It can take days if not weeks to remedy such a situation.

FANTASTIC PHYSICIAN AND EFFICIENT FRIENDLY ACCOMODATING STAFF!! Dr. Young has literally changed my life. I had a hysterectomy at a very young age and could not get my hormones stable. She began hormone replacement therapy with bio-identical hormone pellets and I have literally had a 180 degree improvement in my mood, viability and over all sense of well-being. Her new office structure allows patients to be seen at a reasonable price despite their high deductibles and out of pocket expenses. If you do not have insurance, or have a high deductible her office is definitely the way to go...She spent over 45 minutes with me at my initial consultation visit.

RED FLAG -- This doctor has moved around ALOT and has a high turnover rate with her staff - she is currently NOT affliated with any hospital or insurance plan . . . and you need to ask yourself WHY before choosing her has a physician. She is all about the "money" -- how much of yours she can get! They require 2 visits just for a wellness physical (and your insurance will only cover one . . they bill you in FULL for the 2nd visit)....They even charge $30 to have a copy of your records sent to another physician :( Unheard of! Whatever happened to continuity of care? They care more for money than for the patient - even by "pushing" their own vitamins & supplements and lab tests.

Dr. Young failed to give information from a radiology report that showed multiple non-calcified ground glass nodules in my left lung. The radiologist recommended a follow-up CT scan in 3 months to look for changes. Now, three YEARS later, I have become aware of these details, only because Dr. Young left the St. Francis system. Gross negligence.

Dr. Young is the best doctor in town and cares more about her patients than I can put into words. I have never felt like a doctor had my interest at heart the way I do with Dr. Young.

This doctor did not spend quality time with me. She did not seem to want to listen and seem to be in a hurry. This was my first visit and I was not impressed. I was concerned about taking to many medications. When I asked her if one medication had any long term effects on the kidneys since my mother had renal failure, she said in a rather abrupt manner, :" the dose is to low for you to be concerned with that". I was really hoping to be able to build a patient doctor relationship here but needless to say I don't see that happening.

I have made 4 visits to this doctor. Each time I have had to wait 45 to 55 minutes to see the doctor. Even when I schedule the appointment for the first time she see patients, there is still a 50 minute wait. If your time is valuable, find another doctor.
