I sought treatment from Dr. Lopez for many, many years for PTSD which developed into a painful and debilitating depression which lasted forb quite a number of years. For most of the time, he was a kind, generous physician who, despite his lack of skill, really wanted to help, but in the face of my unabating depression he became dismissive and sometimes even cruel. I felt deeply ashamed that I couldn't make myself get better. Finally, another psychiatrist got me off the myriad drugs I was taking and cured my depression within 8 months. I recognize Dr. Lopez's personality in CQQLT's quote that when the student is ready the teacher will appear. While quite touching, the attitude that some acquiescent force in nature is bound to rescue those who suffer has no place in medicine. No oncologist would tell a patient, "When your lungs are ready, a cure will appear."

I was wrongfully IVCed into Holly Hills Hospital. I tried explaining to Lopez that I am fine and I didn't do anything that should have landed me in here. I did not receive the response I was seeking. I then tried to explain to him that someone needs my bed more than I do, since there are only 16 of us in the unit I was assigned to. He showed no sympathy towards my problem. I then talked to my peers only to find out that he shows no sympathy, and he keeps many people in here much longer than they need to be. He got rid of my prior medication and put me on Lithium, which has nothing to do with the mental illness I have. I then find out that he hands out Lithium and Fish Oil like candy. He does not tailor to the patient, only to his paycheck. There were people in my unit that have repetitively told him that the Lithium does not work, but he does not listen, only up the dosage. He only sees us as walking dollar signs, not as patients who were looking for help and asylum from their outside… problems. he also only has brief sessions with us; he sits us down, throws some medical terms around, shoves his head up his butt a little more, and moves on to the next person. I wish there is a zero star option. It is a miracle he still has his job and his medical license.

"Dr." E. Lopez is a not only incompetent, but he defrauds his patient's insurance with fraudulent billing for his services. I could go on further, but I will update my comment after I complete my complaint with Medicare about this incompetent fraudster.

An absolutely horrific experience. He's arrogant cruel and forces his delusional opinions down your throat. It was the most miserable experience of my life. I suffer from PTSD and night terrors now from him. Please stay far away.

This doctor took me off of all my medications at one time when I was wrongly committed to Holly Hill, causing my health issues to spiral out of control. He never contacted the medical doctors whose care I was under because he did not agree with the medicines I was on at the time of being admitted. He was extremely rude. I would not trust him to treat another human being after the way he treated me. He also refused to release me to the care of another doctor. I had to get a personal lawyer involved to get released from his care. When I left his care seven days later I was dehydrated, had unusually high blood pressure that scared my family medical practitioner (She hospitalized me the day after I left his care), could barely walk with a walker, nor could I return to work for several weeks because I could not speak clearly. My family doctor also ordered a CT Scan concerned that this doctors actions may have caused a stroke. I was lucky, 3 months later I am slowly getting the… quality of my life back. My insurance company is refusing to pay and is concerned I have grounds for a malpractice suit.
