Dr. Marchele A Bowen, MD

I went to Dr. Bowen with a bad cough that was keeping me up at night. I had tried Delsum and Niquil plus cough drops and tea but nothing worked. I asked Dr. Bowen for a prescription strength cough syrup so I could get some sleep. She gave me nasal spray which did nothing. I saw another doctor a week/ 7 sleepless nights later and he game me codeine cough syrup and an antibiotic which allowed me to sleep and heal. Don't go to this doctor.

I am stunned at seeing bad reviews about this doctor. My husband who works in medical system( GE), Baxter recommended me Dr. Bowen, who is very professional, caring and diagnoses well. I had an infection, rashes and she was able to see the origin.

She diagnosed me with constipation and recommended laxatives. A few hours later I'm being rushed to Condell by the Paramedics with a 105 degree temperature and in such severe pain I couldn't walk. ER doctor comes in, takes one look, pushes on stomach and says, appendix, get him into surgery. Well, appendix had burst, gangrene set in, THE worst appendix the surgeon had EVER seen (the size of his fist he told me) had very difficult time getting it out, but saved my life and I spent 8 days in Condell. The doctors frequently told me how close I came, I mean like they said, "you have no idea how close you came." UNBELIEVABLE! I agree with many of the reviews - don't, just don't!! The doctors at Condell said to me, after hearing the story that I had visited a doctor, "just come to the ER, don't ever go to her again." I contacted a lawyer, but due to the fact that I didn't have any lasting problems, there wasn't much we could do other than complain. Which I have done!

I went to see Dr. Bowen and she was very thorough. She made sure that she understood my concerns and recommended the correct therapy. I did not find that she was hesitant to give me what I needed but she did ensure that the medication was the correct choice. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Bowen is more interested in selling over the counter products and letting you get sicker than you are, than prescribing a needed antiobiotic. After multiple experiences with her, we are DONE. I will NEVER see her or let my family members see her again. What is her deal? She won't TREAT the infection, just puts a bandaid on it.

I chose Dr. Bowen when our family doctor left this practice and I needed to see a doctor to get my asthma prescriptions refilled. NEVER AGAIN! My asthma is well controlled, and I have never had a problem previously with any other doctor in getting the meds I need and that work well for me. Dr. Bowen would not listen to anything I had to say. She absolutely refuses to write a prescription for albuterol (the emergency inhaler) with refills. If I ran out of my prescription, I was told to call the office to be seen so she could re-evaluate my other medicines. That will be difficult to do if I DIE BECAUSE I CANT BREATHE. I have since found a new doctor that agrees Dr. Bowen's care of an asthmatic is extremely lacking and borders on abusive, and he had no qualms at all about giving me the prescription I needed with enough refills for the entire year, if needed. I do not abuse my medications. What she did was tantamount to telling a deep sea diver to just hold their breathe if they run out… air while at the bottom of the ocean. She should have her license revoked.

My family and I have been stuck using Dr Bowen when our regular physician isn't there and its some form of emergency. She has either misdiagnosed, under treated, or talked condescendingly to me and my husband on every occasion. I am very blatant when I call and say I will NEVER see her.

Talk about conservative treatment! I tried rest/ice/ibuprofen for 2 weeks for a simple injury, and then go see her because that course didn't work, She prescribed rest/ice/ibuprofen. Seriously. I could not believe it. And her hands are EXTREMELY cold.

I refuse to see Dr. Bowen ever again. I gave it several visits. The final straw for me is a result of her talking down to me and directing me to use over the counter products after I had already been doing that. I knew I needed an antibiotic to clear my illness, but she it seem like I was asking for a pint of her blood. My condition worsened, and I returned three days later and saw a different physician, who gave me what I needed. My infection went away and I had relief within days.

I had tennis elbow that I treated for 2 weeks with rest, ice, and ibuprofen. I went to Dr. Bowen, and she prescribed-----wait for it---------------REST/ICE and she gave me a prescription for IBUPROFEN! DUH! I already missed 2 weeks of work, and she prescribes WHAT I HAVE ALREADY BEEN DOING! The definition of insanity has been described as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Think this applies here? I ended up seeing another doc, and in 5 minutes got the cortisone shot that fixed the problem immediately and permanently. Don't waste your time with this doctor. I'd rather see a vet.
