Dr. Albernaz completed his medical school at the Northeastern Ohio University's College of Medicine, where he graduated with honors. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society prior to graduation. He completed his Surgical and Ears, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Surgery residencies at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He's currently a Professor of Surgery at the Brody School of Medicine of East Carolina University. He served as Chief-of-Staff of University Health Systems of Eastern North Carolina's major teaching hospital, Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Dr. Albernaz, past President of the Pitt County Medical Society and also past President of the North Carolina Society of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery. He has a keen interest in quality improvement of medical care and patient safety. Dr. Albernaz is Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

My 4 day old a grandson was seen by Dr. Albernaz. He explained the Procedure and was very caring and kind. Thank you Dr. Albernaz

Great doctor and wonderful with children. Our daughter just had tubes put in her ears. During the consultation, he really took his time with us. We did not feel rushed and we felt like he truly cared about the well-being of our daughter and that she just wasn't another patient to him. Thank you Dr Albernaz for taking care of her!

Dr. Albernaz has the best bed side manner I have ever seen in all my years of working in the medical field. My daughter has fell in love with him. She wants to go see him on a regular basis and even cried tonight after a follow up visit that she wanted him to come over as well as wanting his phone number.....She is six years old and absolutely adores this man. He spends time with his patients and has a wonderful way with children. I love the fact that he called after her surgery to check on her. He is one fine doctor and I have never met one like him. Being a patient at his facility, I want to change my doctor to Dr. Albernaz. Absolutely amazing.. His care and concern is beyond what words can describe. Four stars aren't nearly enough to express this doctor.

Dr. Albernaz repaired my nose after a nasty fall and break. He did a fantastic job, you can not see any damage. He was friendly and professional, answered all questions, and seemed very experienced. I highly recommend this doctor.
