Dr. Marcus Darnell Smith, MD

I received a Collection Agency notification 3 1/2 years after a hospital stay from Capital Accounts. I did not see Dr. Smith and he is not listed anywhere on my visit summary as an attending physician or a consulting physician although the hospital issued a Return to Work statement under his name (without signature). I have never received a bill from Dr. Smith either directly or via my insurance. Dr. Smith's phone is disconnected and hospitals listed as "associated" with Dr. Smith that I have contacted have no information on his whereabouts, or contact information.

I thought I was the only one! I just got a call last week from bill collector (Capital Accounts-Nashville, TN) for the exact same thing, 2 1/2 years after being in Methodist Hospital, Woodlands. I called his office several times after I received bill, trying to get him to file with Insurance- no response. I never received another bill from him, so I thought it was taken care of. I have tried to reach out to Dr. Smith again without success. I'm being threatened with bad debt going on my credit. This is not acceptable! Dr. Smith is a nice man and has good bed side manner, but did he not show up in my room much. It took a while for him to discharge me from hospital.

This doctor billed me for a visit when I was in the hospital without using my insurance on file . I called his office asking for my insurance to be used, and now I am dealing with bill collectors. Use this doctor at your own peril.

I was admitted at St Luke's hospital the woodlands. Dr Smith provide excellent care in a timely fashion . I love dr smith
