Dr. McCormack is an excellent primary physician. I love that she listen to me and give me her professional Medical review I like she have a great report with my other doctors as well as they with her I respect her honesty when it comes to my health.

I was a patient of Dr. McCormack for about seven years and wanted to share my experience so others can make an informed decision when choosing their primary care doctor. I initially chose her because she is an internist and a graduate of the same university I attended. My visits were always routine- the nurse would take my vitals, Dr. McCormack would come in, chat briefly, review my lab results, and that was usually it. On several occasions, she forgot to send my lab orders, which caused long waits, but I overlooked it, understanding that everyone can make mistakes. However, my experience during my last visit in May 2025 was troubling and unacceptable. After the nurse took my vitals, she asked if I had any concerns. I mentioned that I’d been experiencing occasional heartbeat irregularities after having Covid and some forgetfulness. When Dr. McCormack entered, I began to share these symptoms and mentioned that a close friend of mine had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s,… something that naturally made me worry about my own memory. Instead of responding with empathy or professionalism, Dr. McCormack’s reaction shocked me. She abruptly got up, raised her voice, and said, “You are selfish! You shouldn’t think about yourself, you should be supporting your friend!” Then she added that my mental health was “going downhill,” lifted her arm above her head, turned her thumb down in a dramatic gesture, and told me I needed to see a therapist. I was stunned and extremely uncomfortable. She briefly placed her stethoscope on my back for about a second while I was still sitting, repeated several times that I needed therapy, said it was her version of “tough love,” and left the room. The next day, I was surprised to receive a call from a psychologist’s office. Apparently, Dr. McCormack had submitted a referral without my consent. I found that completely inappropriate and invasive. Later, when I switched to a new primary doctor, my new physician told me she couldn’t perform a full physical exam because my previous doctor had already billed my insurance for one. I was shocked as there was no physical exam performed during that visit. Every appointment I ever had with Dr. McCormack followed the same routine: vitals with the nurse, a brief conversation, review of labs, and that was it. A single, quick use of a stethoscope does not qualify as a full physical exam. In my opinion, this was not only unprofessional conduct but also unethical billing. A good doctor should listen with empathy, respect their patients, and act only with consent- not judge, dismiss, or misrepresent care provided. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dr. McCormack to anyone looking for a caring, respectful, and trustworthy physician.
