Dr. Margaret Ting Ryan, MD

Excellent doctor working with a fantastic team (Well by Messer in NYC, Manhattan). Dr. Ryan was very thorough in her explanation of the plan she put me in. She explained in detail how the medication works and answered all my questions. She has a great personality and is very bright and warm. I'm planning to come back! (Receptionist Caitlin was excellent too!).

My father who had several major seizures and ended up in emergency room at Bryn Mawr Hospital was referred to this practice to be seen by an endocrinologist. They had no opening for a month so I put him on a waiting list for any cancellation appointment. When they had an opening two weeks ago, I arranged him to be seen by Dr. Ryan. To get my father who was practically bed bound due to his previous strokes and current weak condition was a HUGE effort on everyone’s part, including asking my niece who drove an hour to bring him to the office. He lives in a house that is not wheelchair accessible and there are total of 8 steps to negotiate. (I live 6 hours away and was coordinating this via facetime and was planning to translate for my parents during their appointment) When my niece brought my father into the waiting room of the practice, he started to cough (with his mask on), which he often does when he is tired from not swallowing correctly from his stroke. He had no temperature… and because he’s been home bound, he was essentially quarantined for weeks with his wife who was taking care of him. Dr. Ryan REFUSED to see him because of his cough. I explained the situation to the office manager who relayed the message but despite knowing how much of effort it was for him to be physically there, she still refused. I asked to just talk via phone to the doctor to explain his symptoms to get medical advice as to what we should be doing to take care of him. She still REFUSED to even get on the phone! She told the office manager that she was too busy, even though it was during my father’s appointment time slot. How could any “Doctor” turn away an 84 years old man who needed medical help and made a Herculean effort to be there? Did “Dr.” Ryan take an Hippocratic Oath when she became a doctor? What good is her Williams College education and medical school training when she refuses to see a patient that the hospital sent? Shame on her and this practice hiding behind their “COVID policy” and refusing to bend their rules to do telemedicine for new patients. Think twice before going to this HEARTLESS practice!

May have flunked Hypo 101. My range up and down between .35 to 8.5 for over two years. Doesn't seem to know what the word "Level" means Disaster!

First words out of the doctors mouth was you won't like me. I don't believe in the medicine you are taking and I don't believe in Adrenal Fatigue. I agreed to end the appointment after 5 minutes and then they are billing me. Admin was rude and abrupt in my calls to resolve the bill. I was very unsettled and upset when I left and did not think about the billing. I was too shocked to have a doctor speak to me the way she did. She believes one thing and one thing only. A very negative experience overall.

First of all, the woman who schedules appointments is completely vile and barks at you over the phone. Secondly, the doctor knows next to nothing about treating hormone and thyroid problems. The entire visit left me very disturbed. For one, Dr. Ryan completely brushed off my blood work as normal when it clearly was not [confirmed by another doctor]. Apparently, she's never heard of endocrine disorders causing eyebrow and eyelash loss [both are major symptoms of thyroid malfunction]. She also threw Metformin at me without testing my insulin resistance or my b12, even though I learned Metformin can cause serious b12 depletion. After diagnosing me with Hashimoto's, she just sent me away, never thinking about WHY I got it to begin with and how to determine the root cause [and yes, there are many]. Not only does she need to go back to medical school, she needs to get a conscience.

Extremely Adversarial, Abundantly Arrogant, not cooperative with me as far as my special circumstances, a total waste of time, insurance, and money. Not recommended at all!

She never looks at my blood sugars ?? I don't understand how she thinks she can help me with my diabetes when she never reviews my blood sugar results.

Dr. Ryan made me feel very comfortable. She took the time to explain each & every decision she made.I would recommend her to family & friends. She has a very calming effect, and an excellent bedside manner.i couldn't be more satisfied.
