Dr. Margit Szabo Lister, MD

I HAD MY BABY AND DR LISTER WAS THE DOCTOR ON CALL FOR DELIVERY THE NIGHT I DELIVERED. WHEN SHE CAME IN SHE DIDN'T INTRODUCE HERSELF, BUT SAT DOWN ON A STOOL AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED CHECKING HER PHONE AND TEXTING. EVEN WHEN I WAS PUSHING AND MY BABY WAS CLOSE SHE CONTINUED TO BE ON HER PHONE, AND WHEN MY BABY FINALLY CAME SHE DIDN'T CATCH HER BUT INSTEAD MY BABY LANDED ON THE TABLE. WHEN IT CAME TIME TO DELIVER THE PLACENTA, SHE STARTED TUGGING ON THE CORD WHICH WAS SUUUUPER PAINFUL AND I COULD FEEL IT RIPPING AWAY FROM MY UTERUS INSIDE ME. I WAS ALREADY EXHAUSTED FROM LABOR, IN SO MUCH PAIN FROM DELIVERING NATURAL AND SHE WAS IN A HURRY TO GET MY PLACENTA OUT INSTEAD OF LETTING MY BODY NATURALLY DO IT - WHICH SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE. I HAD A SECOND DEGREE TEAR FROM THE DELIVERY. WELL DOCTOR LISTER DECIDED TO SEW ME UP WITHOUT ANY LOCAL PAIN MEDICINE (I DELIVERED NATURAL), AND HOLY OUCH. SHE THEN GOT IRRITATED WITH ME WHEN I WOULD LIFT UP MY BUM IN PAIN AND PULLED ME DOWN SAYING, "KEEP… YOUR BODY ON THE TABLE." AND THEN AS SOON AS SHE STITCHED ME UP SHE WAS GONE. DIDN'T EVEN SAY GOODBYE, OR SHAKE MY HAND, NOTHING. PROBABLY THE WORST OBGYN DOCTOR I COULD HAVE HAD. I AM A NURSE, AND WAS NOT IMPRESSED. I REALLY AM GRATEFUL FOR THE NURSES THAT DAY, THEY WERE 1000000X GREATER OF A PROVIDER THAN THAT DOCTOR.

Dr. Lister brushed off all concerns and questions I had about my pregnancy, and gave me generalized Google answers. I don't think she neglected to investigate concerns I had, because she thought everything was fine. I think she did that because answering my questions and investigating problems would have taken us over the ten minutes allotted for the appointment. I just felt like something was wrong and while the symptoms could have been perfectly normal, they also could have indicated that something was wrong. Even so, Dr. Lister was short and curt with her answers, and there was no testing performed. After I switched to another doctor, I found out that the questions I had couldn't really be answered without the doctor doing some testing. Thankfully, my new doctor was thorough and I was treated for a condition that could have turned into something much more serious. Dr. Lister doesn't have time to give proper care. I highly recommend finding a doctor that doesn't rush you out of… the office.

LOVE Dr. Lister! Would highly recommend her to anyone!

I can't really say this review is about Dr. Lister per say, because I was never actually able to speak with Dr. Lister, even though I asked her assistant for a second second opinion because I felt her assistant wasn't taking my symptoms very seriously. Her reply was I'll get to speak with Dr. Lister at my LEEP appointment. I decided to go to another doctor and picked up my records only to find out her assistant flat out lied in a report, stating I declined an endometrial biopsy among other things. I'm so glad I took my husband with me or else I don't think anyone would believe that she would do that, I am glad I decided to get a second opinion.

Dr. Lister and her staff misdiagnosed my symptoms. If I had followed her diagnosis, I would have had unnecessary, painful treatments.. I was given the diagnosis by her assistant, and when I called to talk to Dr. Lister, she wasn't available. I went to another doctor who ran a series of tests, and I found out I did not have the serious condition Dr. Lister diagnosed. I immediately switched doctors. It may have been a mistake at a lab, but Dr. Lister felt the results were accurate and didn't want to do another check up. I am glad I went to another doctor and checked Dr. Lister's diagnosis.

Even the wait is worth it to see Dr Lister! I have had two of my babies with her now. I am high risk. With gestational diabetes and my first baby not birthed here in Utah but in California. I had an OB who was awful and almost decimated my first child. Dr lister took very good care of me with my lady two babies and listens! So if you don't mind the wait times because she is such a loved doctor, it is very worth it! We even got my 3rd out without any vacuum assistance! Dr Lister knows her stuff, and she gives you hugs! She smiles and asks about you as a person and she gets the job done! If I were rich I would pay out of pocket for her as a provider. I have great health insurance though, but seriously she's that amazing.

Dr. Lister is really nice and takes time to sit with her patients and not give a rushed appearance. However, that is great when you finally get to see her. I am going to switch doctors as it is becoming ridiculous with appointments. For the last 3 years, I have always gotten a call that I need to reschedule, which usually moves me another month out. A couple of the times, they have rescheduled me at a different clinic 20 minutes farther the original appointment. It is extrememyl difficult to get in to see her and though she is nice it is not worth the hassle.

I LOVE Dr. Lister. She is VERY supportive on my birthing choices (ie. birthing positions, drug free) and is proactive in helping me to achieve my goals. I've delivered 2 of my babies with her, both naturally. She was also very kind when I miscarried. I consider her a friend, that is also my doctor.

Dr. Lister has delivered all three of my children because I trust my life and that of my newborn's to her. When my first baby's heartrate disappeared she calmly assessed and gave me my options. My csection went perfectly. For my second she cheered me on to exercise and stretch so I could have a chance at the vbac I so wanted. It went perfectly. My third was high risk due to my complete placenta previa, but also went perfect . I was cared for throughout my pregnancy, every question answered, every panic assuage. This woman is everything an obgyn should be.

I had the worst experience with Dr. Lister. First off their staff is very unorganized. They don't know what they are doing and get appointments confused and then alway tell you sge is on vacation. Dr. Lister cares more about her staff who screw everything up more than the patients. If you want to have the worst pregnancy care of your life because she will make you feel like you are nothing then go to her. She made me go home crying on several occasions but I was so close to delivering I could not switch doctors. I even tried to but I was days away:(.
