Dr. Mari-Kim Wolter Bunnell, MD

Avoid this OB at all costs. She pushes personal agendas instead of sticking to facts and letting patients decide what is best for themselves and their babies. Felt harassed, belittled, and intimidated after my appointment. I will never see her again, and I suggest any woman avoid her unless you want to spend your appointment being lectured and having your own concerns dismissed. Absolutely reprehensible behavior by a doctor caring for pregnant women.

Dr BUNNELL is an excellent Dr. I have been seeing her for years !!!

I'm new to the area and a new gyno is always an interesting ordeal; howver, Dr. Bunnell is extremely professional and friendly. She's a top notch doctor.

Dr. Bunnel is a very experienced, and highly knowledgeable doctor. I had my son bon healthy with her great help, patience, and persistence to natural delivery, avoiding c-section. I am so greatful!

Dr. Bunnell has been been my doctor for 13 years, through 2 pregnancies and I am now on my third pregnancy with her as my doctor. I moved an hour and a half away from her office and will not find another doctor because I find her to be highly skilled and I trust and value her opinion about the health and safety of my baby. If you have questions she is more than willing to answer them and spend the time with you...I will admit she is not a huge fan of small talk but that doesn't matter to me when it comes to my dr. I don't want them to be my best friend I want them to know what to do if something goes wrong. She is always available by email and is prompt in getting back to me if I have a question. And I will also say, through the visits I have had with other doctors, she is the only one who helps me back up after I have to lay down for my exam instead of leaving me like a turtle on my back!

At my post partum appt I told Dr Bunnell that I planned to have 1 more baby eventually and she said "You know you're not getting any younger." At other prenatal office visits she has made other insensitive remarks - asking "still pregnant?" at the start of a prenatal visit after a previous and recent missed miscarriage; pointing out the "wisdom of a spring baby" (to avoid being pregnant during a hot summer) when my previous miscarriage should have resulted in a spring baby. It doesn't really matter what you think of her as a doctor though because at this office you're forced to spend most of your prenatal visits with each of a long list of other doctors. That means Dr Bunnell never remembered me when she did see me.

Dr. Bunnell gave us no option when pregnant with our first child, but to have a c-section. She based this fact on an "approximate" weight of the baby to be over 9 lbs when I was 38 weeks pregnant. She told us that her practice does not allow first time deliveries to be vaginal if the baby weighs over 4000 grams. She advised that we deliver the baby, by c-section, early based on her operating schedule. We asked if 38 weeks was too early and she replied, "no, clearly the baby is big enough." We trusted her and went ahead to have our baby who was born at only 8 1/2 pounds and needed to be admitted to the NICU for respiratory distress disorder. Our child was in the NICU for one week struggling to breathe. Dr. Bunnell did not even come see us until day five as she was unavailable. It would have been appropriate for Dr. Bunnell to do an amnio to check lung maturation prior to delivery, however, she did not offer this to us.
