Dr. Alvarez, I came to your office in pain about growing concerns for my health with worsening symptoms but since I had not done any of the tests ordered MRI etc. you came into the room with your arms crossed and said right away "I don't know why you are here when you don't even bother doing what I tell you, what do you want from me?" And when I said that I was here for a follow up because you and another provider both started me on several medications and I had a progression of symptoms and NO improvement and I'm getting scared of these changes and I wanted to talked about it. Your response to me "Well, I still don't know why you're here since you didn't get any of the tests done." You did absolutely nothing for me but waste my time. You had no bedside manner, you had no compassion and you showed me no kindness. So when I decided I had enough of your attitude towards me and I left your office and now my medical records make me look like I'm the rude patient. So you can F - Off

I'm sorry that some patients felt compelled to post negative reviews about Dr. Alvarez. My experience was much different. Positive patient reviews regarding providers usually emphasize such qualities as "compassionate,'" "sympathetic," and "good listener." I'm interested in results. Dr. Alvarez clearly articulated a viable action plan to ameliorate my cluster headaches and attain realistic results. She provided me with medication options and samples to try, and even offered contact information for a possible therapy approach which she was not entirely comfortable with. It was a pleasure working with her and her amenable, competent staff today. And, get this, no follow-up visit suggested unless I thought I would benefit from it. I highly recommend her.

Terrible patient care. She is dismissive and tries to get you out ASAP. Clinic is poorly run. Took over a month to address prior auth. Charged for medication I asked to be discontinued twice. Clinical manager is unprofessional and beyond rude. There are better physicians literally anywhere else.

I told the clinic I didn't want to get botox anymore on 2 occasions prior to my next appointment. They ordered it anyways and I had to pay $140 to the pharmacy. I asked if I could take it home, since I paid for it and I was uncomfortable leaving it at the clinic in case they used it on someone else on my tab. I was told the clinical manager would address the whole issue with me. After not hearing from anyone I tried to call them. I was called back by an extremely angry female clinic manager who yelled at me over the phone, told me I am threatening the clinic with accusations of diversion and that they were dropping me as a patient. Pretty sad excuse to save $140 and completely unprofessional behavior. I mentioned to a drug rep I knew that I was seeing a provider at this clinic before all this happened and her reaction told 1000 words. Try another clinic.

Most patients coming into this specialized office are looking for answers. If a patient comes to an appointment, Dr should be ready by having reviewed docs sent from other physicians prior to appointment date. Don't waste the patient's time. And definitely don't make someone already feeling bad - feel worse by implying YOUR time was wasted. It's wonderful to have all the credentials and even as an adjunct Professor; however it's critical that patients be able to understand the physician speaking to them. Spend the time to work on speech and communication courtesies. To add, defer to the social protocols that are standard to the country in which you are practicing. Dr. Alvarez, you are rude. We will encourage the physician that recommended Dr. Alvarez to discontinue referrals. Office is ill prepared and Dr is hostile with new patients.

The patient is an 85 year old Parkinson's man, his wife is 95. This was the 2nd visit. The initial appointment, Dr. Alvarez was having personal problems, so we dismissed her behavior and unprofessional dress to that situation. Basically, this visit today was our first to establish a rapport with her; however, she was a great disappointment. Her dress is unprofessional and a disgrace to the medical profession, 6 inch stiletto shoes. However, that can be overlooked if her medical expertise and patient care were appropriate. She barely acknowledge her patients, but she simply typed in their comments, stated frequently, when they asked about the disease, " I will answer your questions later". Finally, she told my 95 year old mother, " I don't have time for you to learn about Parkinson's, it took me years myself, surely you can't learn it at a doctor visit". Her main objective was to document her report during the visit, instead of talking with the patient, so she wouldn't have any paper… work to finish later. I speak as a healthcare professional who works with Parkinson's patients as a nurse. As a nurse, I am horrified at her behavior, dress and lack of care.

Very cold Dr. Shows no compassion. We were told there is nothing she can do, so why waste my time!!!
