Dr. Maria T Benedetto-Anzai, MD

She totally supports her patients throughout pregnancy and in regards to labor and delivery.

I had to stop seeing Dr. Benedetto after moving out of State but I am missing her bedside manner, terribly. There aren't alot of doctors with her level of care and expertise. She has alot of patients but she always takes the time to go over your records and update you on any new developments. She is extremely kind and open to any questions you may have. I think she is one of the best that NYC has!

Dr Benedetto is a highly respectful professional. I consider myself a difficult patient and had a lot of bad experiences. In addition my labor was a very complicated one, however Dr Benedetto has tremendous experience and treated me extremely well and professionally.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Benedetto. Her primary focus was scolding me for gaining weight (I was at the low end of the normally recommended amount). This became so bizarre and upsetting that I finally switched doctors. She did not counsel us at all on our options for genetic testing (I'm an older mom) and by the time I had switched docs we'd missed the window to make sure our baby was ok. Several times when we had an appointment (a long trip from my office) I'd arrive only to learn she could no longer see me that day. I would not recommend this doctor to my worst enemy.

Most traumatic birth!!! Treated me in labor very disrespectful yelled unprofessionally when it came to actual delivery yelled chaotically for another dr o assist even the stitches wasn't done thru her all she did made my experience a true nightmare

Dr. Benedetto is nothing short of wonderful.

Condescending, not a good experience.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Benedetto. She was curt and rude throughout my pregnancy and did not show up for my birth. At the postpartum visit she neither asked about my birth or my child, and spent less than 5 minutes in the room with me. Throughout the process, I felt unheard and disrespected.

Steer clear of this practice unless you want to feel like you're number at the deli counter, have your partner's concerns get misdiagnosed or unaddressed. Bottom line, especially with your first child, you want a doctor who is proactive in addressing anything that can be red flag to plan ahead when the day comes, no matter how minor or serious - and that just doesn't happen here unfortunately. You're left searching for answers on your own and put in a state of panic at a time you should be as at ease as possible.

This practice is a toxic environment. From the second you walk in the door the doctors are yelling at the miserable and unhelpful people at the front desk. The doctor is always completely overwhelmed--constantly looking at her phone and half listening to you. In fact, she dismissed my back issue and recommended I see a chiropractor. Next thing I know, I was wheelchair bound and admitted to the hospital. Three weeks of cut pay on disability later, I still couldn't get through to her that my problem was more than sciatica. The desk staff is rude also...two of the nurses hung up on me when I called to request medical records. They ruined the first five months of my pregnancy. Be warned and stay FAR AWAY. If I could give zero stars I would.
