Dr. Maria P Canter, MD

Dr. Canter is very good but her staff is awful. I have been a long time patient of Dr. Canter and have considered changing doctors due to her staffs unavailability and at times, rudeness.

I cannot understand the previous negative comments at all. Dr. Canter has been one of the most professional, knowledgeable, caring and humorous physicians I've ever been to. I will be having surgery soon and wouldn't even consider going to another doctor.

Her treatment plan was absolutely incorrect and could have been a disaster. thank goodness i got a second opinion. Her staff was not the best either, a little creepy.

They are not concerned about patient's issue and time.

Dr. Canter is wonderful and presents a lot of non-surgical options. Her office always runs 45min+ late. It is maddening. And the staff are not proactive about telling you when they are late. If I have to be at an appointment on time or pay a fee, then I expect my doctor to be on time as well (or at the very least notify me when they are running late). Having worked in healthcare process improvement, this is not an impossible request.

My experience with this doctor was that she does not listen to the patient, she is rude, dismissive and angry and lacked either both the knowledge and care to work on a problem. I experienced a total lack of organization and at each follow up, it was like she was just barking a new thing without even remembering her previous treatment. She also insisted on prescribing a drug that I am allergic to and would not substitute anything else leaving me entirely without care in a serious situation which I feel is more than irresponsible for a physician.

I felt very at ease from my first appt. She explained all procedures thoroughly.

Unprofessional and disrespectful of her patients time. She was running late and rather than close our her morning schedule she has her nurse tell me to come back after lunch, that she is done seeing patients for the morning. I was on time for the appointment and waited 35 minutes in their lobby to be told she would not see me.

My experience with Dr.Canter was very poor. She was distracted and did not listen to a word I was saying. Her nurse was rude and abrupt. Having the doctor call or even getting an answer to a simple questions was impossible. Often times my appointments were rescheduled or she was not there when I arrived after driving over an hour to see her. She orders expensive tests without even understanding the problem because she doesn't listen and then when you question it she threatens to discharge you. I will happily take my care elsewhere!
