Dr. Maria Isabel Hicks, MD

Beware. Scheduling an appointment was easy. When I called to change, I was told she had an out-of-town emergency; but there was no note in my profile of a phone call. Was able, though, to get an appointment with the PA. He was clueless until I mentioned diagnosis by several other doctors. When checking out, not only did they want to charge a copay (no problem) but also a charge for the biopsy and lab ($50 each). Told them to bill the insurance - they weren't happy. The only times I pay for tests/procedures at the time of the appointment is when the doctor/facility has gotten pre-approval from the insurance with a specific copay. Otherwise, I receive an invoice in the mail.

Saw Dr. Hicks for a condition I have had for awhile. I did wait awhile but I can see why. She is patient and really took time to explain what was going on which prior had never happened. She gave me a medication which wasn't expensive and so far I am finally getting relief!

I was very satisfied with the service I received at Dr. Hicks office by the Dr and her staff. They were exceptionally friendly. Dr. Hicks listened attentively to my questions, and she provided me in detail what procedure she was going to do. I highly recommend Dr. Hicks as a dermatologist. Her assistant Brenda was excellent also, and very helpful.

I had to wait over a month to see Dr Hicks as I did not want to see a PA. I arrived for my appointment and they made me wait an hour and 45 minutes. When I was finally called in they said "Dr Hicks is not even here today. Would you like to make another appointment a month from now.

Dr.Hicks is amazing! She is compassionate and takes her time with you. Her bed side manner is phenomenal. She makes you feel like family. She has been a huge blessing with my daughters care.

My wife and myself have nothing but praise for Dr. Hicks. She devoted the necessary amount of time with both of us. She is highly knowledgeable, and a caring professional. We will highly recommend her to anybody needing dermatological care.
