Maria Juarez Reyes is passively manipulative.

Never in my life have I experienced such poor treatment by a doctor who not only had such a nasty and disrespectful attitude towards me; did absolutely nothing to address any of my concerns, nor did she perform any diagnostic tests that in response to be stated symptoms. During our appointment she was argumentative and yelling at me, to the point of making me cry and she had no remorse for her very harsh words. She does a whole lot of talking, going off on long tangents about research studies instead of closing her mouth and listening to her patients. She will talk right over you and go on and on and on. Her demeanor is not only disrespectful, it is not conducive of quality patient care. She was shouting at me and loudly and arguing- she clearly has a temper and it is shocking that she is allowed to conduct herself in this way. If you seek a negligent doctor who has no concern whatsoever for her patients; she is your lady. I am shocked that such unprofessionalism is allowed at… Stanford, what’s worse is that Stanford decided to side with her and saw no fault in her actions. My only mistake was not reviewing these reviews prior to seeing her, I only looked at Stanford’s reviews- which surprise surprise, all doctors score above a 4.5 rating on their website, but the real and honest reviews can be found on websites like this. I have seen many doctors over the years, as I have moved from different states and never in my life have I encountered such a disgusting attitude. Stanford you really should be screening these doctor’s better as well as their ability to be effective providers.

She is the type of physician who doesn't listen, interrupts you, and formulates an opinion without understanding. She is driven by ego and bias. She fails to apply logic to making a diagnosis or recommending next steps. She is outwardly resentful of informed patients who ask questions. Her refusal to refer patients to a proper specialist or to appropriately perform lab testing/imaging is negligent. Her demeanor is disingenuous, rude, and condescending. Regardless of how serious your symptoms are, she is in no hurry to help you. You may get by with her as long as you are well; however, she will never diagnose a serious problem should you ever have one. That is not the time to find out you need a better primary care doctor because finding one and getting into the practice can take time. It painfully clear she does not care one bit about the patient. Its disgraceful Stanford has such systemic issues like this and they are never addressed.

Stay away from Maria. Below is what I sent her. Never, ever have I been treated like this by a doctor. Run far away from Maria! Maria, As per our appointment today, I will be dropping you and switching to another doctor. The reason for this is: A.) You treat patients like they are cattle B.) You never fulfill your time for the appointment. If the appointment is for 40 mins, I expect an appointment for 40 mins, not 15-20 mins like you provided on our only two appointments. I am there early and on time, you should be as well, and if you're not, then you don't need to take away allotted time for patients due to you running behind. You stated to me the 40 mins appointment window is from the start of my appointment time, regardless if you're running behind, and does not start the moment when you walk into the room, which the front desk, the lab, and your boss stated is not true. If you're running behind by 30 mins, does that mean I only get 10 mins due to you running behind? I asked the… same questions to those parties I mentioned and they stated I should still be provided the time my appointment was booked for. I urge you to correct your actions as it's counterproductive to a patient seeking appropriate time and diagnosis from a doctor. Best, J

Useless doctor. Lack of good diagnosis. Had to self diagnose and get help elsewhere by searching online myself. Strongly not recommended.

This physician is superficially very kind and pretends to care, but her medical knowledge is astoundingly unacceptable. I went in with a genitourinary complaint, which she minimized and never bothered to examine that region of my body. My symptoms persisted, and when I asked physician friends, they knew instantly what the problem was, told me this should have been primary care 101 level knowledge, and told me what medication to tell this physician to prescribe. I requested the medication, and she refused to prescribe it, saying this wasn't the "true" problem. As a physician myself, I prescribed myself the medication, and I was better within 24 hours after days of discomfort from her delay. I'm horrified right now and feel trusting patients should be warned to go elsewhere.

This doctor really let me down at a crucial time. When it's the simple things, she's friendly and nice. But I'm looking for someone to take care of my health when there's something critical and unfortunately, she was lacking in that aspect.

Are you sick? Do you need help? Maybe you need a test to assess what's the problem. It's easy for a doctor to prescribe. But this doctor kept refusing and now I have terrible health issues. It's crazy that I need a referal to see a specialist! I bet she is pleased with herself now. I thought you become a doctor to help people get better.

One would think that doctors who aren't in emergency care do not have such big responsibilities, but with the medical system, you can't see a specialist without a primary doctor's referral. If you aren't able to diagnose properly, why not refer to a specialist? Are you afraid that you would be called unknowledgable? Well, that already is the case when you continue to misdiagnose a patient and ruin their health! Is your pride more important or someone's life?
