Dr. Maria Kirilova Nickolova, MD

?????????????? I have been a patient of Maria Nikolova far over 10 years. She is by far the best. She is very organized and professional. She truly does care about her patience and will go above and beyond to help them. I have no idea why the other reviews say different. She has always been there for me during periods of crisis. She builds a great rapport with her patients. Out of all other doctors I've seen over my years she is the BEST

Didn't care about my mental health. Didn't like a message in the portal so they terminated me.

Horrible experience. She talks more about herself, and her own problems than asking about yours.

Very uncaring, doesn't seem she cares about your problems. Rushed questions, then you're out the door

Ive been seeing Dr Nickolova for about 2 years. It’s so hard and takes so long to find a new psychiatrist is the only reason why I’ve gone back. She doesn’t bother to take the time to really listen to you or what’s going on with the medications. The moment you step into her office, she’s already pushing you out the door. She writes the refills and says see you in 3 months, even when you’re going through some type of episode and are trying to get help. She doesn’t have any care or compassion toward her patients, an appointment is just a way to get a paycheck instead of being like a real doctor and at least attempting to help.

She is quick to see patients, pushing them in and out the door. She doesn't address questions. It is her way or the highway.

She cares about the money, not about her patients. She spends very little time with you and does not try to get any in depth information. She prescribes meds and then ignores multiple calls from patients and pharmacists when refills are needed. Most of these meds are very dangerous to stop taking suddenly, but she or the staff don't seem to care about this.

I've been a patient of Dr. Nickalova ' s for 10 years and have stayed as a matter of comfort. I ONLY called to speak with her twice in the middle of serious crisis... first time was when I hospitalized for an acute psychiatric meltdown. She acted VERY annoyed, uncaring, uncompassionate and spent less than 5 minutes with me, saying "there was nothing she could do"; that I had to make an appointment with her. She attempted NO counseling, was very cold and rushed me off the phone. Second time was this week during regular business hours. I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and woke up from a very disturbing nightmare which have been accumulating for 20 years. I had a total meltdown. Again she RUSHED me off the phone, clearly aggravated. She just kept repeating "there is nothing I can do, go to the ER"!!!! (which does NOTHING for psych problems). Neither time did she call later to follow up. Again by her attitude it was clear she did not care at all about me. ALL office visits last 5… minutes, even though I pay for 15 minutes. She just says the same thing every visit. "How are you?". She just types in my scripts, totaling ignoring my response and pushes me out the door as quick as possible. And as another reviewer mentioned....they focus too much devotion to the fiscal end. They just sent a threatening letter to cut me off a pt unless I come up with the total balance in 30 days. Giving me no payment plan options. I've been a TEN year patient and they ALWAYS get paid, just late as I am on Social Security Disability. Tomorrow I am pushing out of my comfort zone and making an apt with another psychiatrist who got great reviews and specializes in PTSD. I need some level of compassion, even if it is minimal. My primary doctor expresses alot more care and interest in my psychological health than Dr. Nickalova and that should not be.

The Dr is very cold. Barely took 5 min to talk to me to figure out what's going on. Told me take this this and that and to follow up in 3 weeks. She dismissed me before I could get a word in. I have taken some of the medications she has prescribed before that didn't work. She would talk more about herself while I was in. Office staff is unconsiderate. Needed forms filled out for work gave them plenty of time to do it when I went back a week later still weren't done. Said they would call me when done never did. Extremely unorganized, the only care about billing you. Go elsewhere ifyou have a choice.

To all:As a preface, the fourth star will not activate on the form. That is why there are only three in my rating.Dr. Nickolova is medication management. She is excellent in this regard and does not play games with expensive and unwarranted brand name meds before exploring other tacks. She is mart as a whip. any low "ratings" posted here, in my opinion, are likely from patients who need counseling rather than a good psychopharmacologist.The criteria presented here are completely irrelevant to what she does.
