Wonderful dr so compassionate and caring. Wonderful bedside manner.

When James Rivell retired, I was concerned that his wife, Maria, would not evidence the same generous and compassionate patent concern that was one of Dr James' chief characteristics. But Doctor Maria Rivell displays the same constant, unhurried and thoughtful care as James. Appointments with her are a joyful and rewarding experience, and I recommend her highly.

Dr Rivell is a fat shamer with horrible bedside manner that will never smile at you no matter how many jokes you tell, trying to overcome the awkwardness. She thinks she’s better than you and is the most disrespectful doctor I’ve ever met. I would not go to her, unless you like to feel worthless.

All of my health markers besides my weight are perfectly normal. She used the little bit of time of appointment time that we had to talk entirely about my weight when I really needed to talk about my anxiety problems and get a referral.

I met Dr. Rivell once as new patient w/ hypothyroidism and severe agoraphobia(fear of leaving house). Told her I might have problems with keeping appointments, (made no comment) and needed my hormone replacement therapy, I was on for two years. renewed. Would not renew prescription . Went without medication for seven weeks and it was an awful experience. I decide to stop any meds. needing refills as she seemed frightened to write prescriptions. I saw her only one other time to get my Adderal prescription filled which I've taken for 15 years. Was very reluctant, almost angry. Told her I would need another appointment in 30 days for Adderal. She said "OK". Then when I called to confirm appointment I was denied appointment. Office wrote letter, said I used vulgar language and miss appointments etc. No one makes a first good impression by using vulgar language. This is an untruthful statement, slander. She just did not want to write another prescription for Adderal. "fear". She did,… however, write a prescription for my husband using her husband's prescription pad and forging his name. What's that about?
