Maria Eva Trent, MD, MPH

Maria Trent, MD, MPH, FAAP, FSAHM, is a pediatrician specializing in adolescent and young adult medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health. Dr. Trent is a Bloomberg Professor of American Health and serves as the inaugural Director of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. Her peers have consistently recognized her as a "top doc" in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area. Dr. Trent is an independent scientist and is the principal investigator on various research projects, both nationally and internationally, funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other organizations. A primary focus of Dr. Trent's research and clinical interests is to reduce sexual and reproductive health disparities among adolescents and young adults. She is recognized as a health trailblazer for her extensive work connecting clinical trials, bench science, and health services research.
