Dr. Maria C Velasco-Ferrari, MD

I saw Dr. Velasco - Ferrari when I had O'bama Care when it first came out. I told her all my issues during our first visit (had to wait 2 months to get an appointment!) and it seemed as though she was not even listening (it was quite evident that she did not as during our follow up visit she asked me same questions and did not know why I was there in the first place). She spent very little time with me. I signed a release for her to get all my previous medical records so she would have them on our next visit. During the next visit, she asked if I had ever had a colonoscopy. I said yes, but I do not remember the date. It's in my records. She did not even look at my records. She prescribed me an anti-depressant but would not prescribe anything for my back pain stating that she is not a pain management Dr. (I have had a previous auto accident). Funny, she is not a phycologist nor a physiatrist but can prescribe anti-depressants. I felt like I was riff-raff or something. She took… no interest or care about me, a new patient. Horrible

I have been a patient of Dr. Velasco for 23 years and she is just the most caring, understanding and awesome Dr. Unfortunately now, due to finances and insurance changes, I'm having to find another Dr. She is going to be very hard to replace but I'm just praying I can find another Dr Velasco!! As a private duty nurse I've even refereed patients to her that were totally impressed and once had a patient that Dr. V was her doctor already. I highly recommend Dr. Maria to everyone!!!

Dr. Velasco-Ferrari has a process for meeting with patients that has NO personality or familiarity to it. She walks in with her computer, never looks at the patient, reviews her prior notes, then begins to ask questions. She does not appear to listen to what is being said, just keeps looking at her computer.

She is the most compassionate doctor I have been to. She really cares about you and will always listen.

I miss Dr. Maria. I trusted her and she was always so compassionate. Thanks for all you've done. You are the best!

The office is run very efficiently - the staff is very courteous and highly professional - Dr. Velasco-Ferrari takes the time necessary to answer questions and thoroughly explains the plan of care in easily understandable terms - would highly recommend her to others

A very caring Dr. Dr's never have enough time to spend with their patients because of the overload.Dr. Velasco has been my Dr. for approx. 9 years and I travel 35 miles to see her.

Dr. Velasco really knows a lot. She has told me things about my condition before the actual tests came back. Very knowledgeable.
