Dr. Marianella Natera- Fernadez

My 10 year old son just had a root canal at North Central Florida Endodontics. The entire team were kind and nurturing from start to finish. He was relaxed, listened to music, and Dr. Natera was singing, making the experience was incredible and positive. Thank you Dr. Natera and her team!!!

The staff in the Gainesville office is nice. However, the dentist, specifically Dr. Natera, was very rude and terrible with children/pre-teens. They were supposed to call me back to be with him before they started and never did. He finally requested me. I had an eye mask and MP3 player for him so he doesn't have to see or hear the work being done. It helps him with anxiety about the procedure. The dentist tried to start before he got these things. He said "wait, wait" and she ignored him. So, he put his hand up to ask her to stop and wait and she freaked out. She threw her gloves off and left the room saying, "Forget it. I'm not doing it. I'm not working on him. No way. I'm not doing it" etc. My son started crying and saying sorry. He was ignored. I asked if they were still doing the procedure, I was ignored. She finally came back and started to numb him up without saying anything about it. It was the final straw when he said he felt pain and they told him he was wrong and it was… just pressure. He kept saying it was pain and they ignored him. Finally, I tell him we're leaving. They tell me to wait and talk to the dentist again. I waited against my better judgement just for the dentist to come back and lecture him about how you can't touch a dentist. He said sorry, was crying again, and said he wasn't trying to touch her, he put his hand up to get her attention because they weren't listening to him and he wasn't ready to start. The staff was nice but the dentist was very rude and extremely unprofessional. They should NOT accept children here and I would advise against you taking your children anywhere near here, no matter their age.
