Dr. Marianna S. Yugrakh, MD

Dr. Yugrakh was thorough, kind, and compassionate. She took the time to explain various treatment options and we worked together to select the most appropriate treatment for me. Her office set up follow up testing and appointments. She was wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Yugrakh!

I have had nothing but excellent experiences with Dr. Yugrakh and her nurse practitioner, and I have been seeing them both for at least 5 years. They are both compassionate providers and understanding providers and have patiently worked with me to get my chronic migraine under control through countless different medication trials. I am someone who has a lot of anxiety about medical encounters due to prior negative experiences, and they have never made me feel like my symptoms weren't real or they were going to give up on me. Although visit times can sometimes be short and there is sometimes a wait, this is pretty standard with the way modern medical practices are set up and is not the fault of the providers.

I'm pretty surprised by these one star reviews. Dr. Yugrakh was one of the most astute neurologists I consulted for my medical condition. Dr. Yugrakh's observations and inquiry into my condition were precise and considerate.

I'm not sure why other people find her bedside manners lacking, and have troubles with length of the visit and/or wait time. She's caring, and takes the time to explain every option and its effects on your long time medical care. Her botox meetings are short because they aren't meant to be a follow up visit, but a shot administration. Nonetheless, she takes the time to check on you, discuss your overall health, and review notes provided by other physicians. Her follow up meetings are longer and she recommends that you schedule those when you need additional support. She'll walk you to her assistant and ask her to clear her schedule or a find time that you feel comfortable with. I did have to wait on my first visit. It took here an hour to get to me, but she spent 1.5 hrs discussing my history afterwards. She's a great physician and I'm happy I was referred to her. I hope this information helps you.

Saw her for a year. Took a history and physical only on the first visit, then pawned it off on her Nurse Practitioner, only giving Botox on follow-up visits. Very cold, arrogant. Greets you in the waiting room by saying " thank you for waiting" not "sorry for the wait" automatically putting her above you. To top it all off she missed a diagnosis caught by a second neurologist I went to who actually performed their own history and physical and doesn't make their nurse practitioner do it. How Columbia lets this woman practice is beyond me. I reported her to their Patient Relations Department and will not stop there.

There were a myriad of questions asked to try and understand the cause(s) of my headaches. I thought the exam was very thorough and Dr. Yugrakh was 100% professional and knew her stuff.

She has no compassion, no patience. Prescribes aggressive treatment without paying attention to the patient other health problems. And soon you'll be seen by her nurse practitioner, not by her. The nurse is worse if something like that is possible, and yet it is. How NYP promotes its doctors is now a big mystery for me.

I visited Dr. Yug because of my chronic headaches. When I tried to tell her about my history she said "are you going to spend your time talking about your life", She was very rude, cold and arrogant. Her diagnosis was to make an appointment with the Psychologist to learn how to cope. I thought I hit the jackpot when I made my appointment because a Doctor at Columbia Presbyterian was the best.. She was the worst Dr. I have seen so far.

Dr. Yugrakh is by far one of the best neurologists I've been to. I've suffered from chronic migraine for years and have seen multiple neurologists. She really knows her stuff, and takes her time to really listen to me, she doesn't jump to medication quickly which is rare in the migraine world, since she knows I prefer not to take a daily medicine, and explains everything in great detail. Overall, she is an example of what a great doctor looks like.
