Dr. Marianne J Pinkston, MD

Pinkston, Marianna Johnna, M.D., Lic. No. K9871, San Antonio On August 16, 2019, the Board and Marianne Johnna Pinkston, M.D., entered into an Agreed Order requiring her to have her practice monitored by another physician for eight consecutive monitoring cycles; within six months complete at least eight hours of in-person CME in medical recordkeeping; and within 90 days pay an administrative penalty of $10,000. The Board found Dr. Pinkston breached the standard of care and failed to maintain adequate medical records for two patients. For one patient she erroneously and nontherapeutically prescribed contraindicated medications to a high risk diabetic patient causing foreseeable complications, and failed to properly treat another patient’s hypothyroidism. Thought I would share

Got conflicting information from Dr Pinkston and her office manager. Was shamed by the office manager for getting a second opinion. I did so because I was prescribed medications that I do not need. One of the prescriptions would in fact cause side effects that I would have to deal with for the rest of my life and would have made me a lifelong patient to a cardiologist friend of hers that she was quick to refer me to. I needed a referral to a psychiatrist to continue taking the medication I have been on, since her office manager states that Dr Pinkston does not prescribe anxiety medication. It is a complete contradiction to the signs posted in the exam rooms regarding required drug testing when Dr Pinkston prescribes anxiety medication. This after spending money on a treatment for anxiety made by her friend and not covered by my insurance. The treatment was expensive and did not work. She used that as an excuse to refer me to another friend of hers. This Dr has 2 sanctions against her.

My life was saved by dr Pinkston. She found the reason for my feeling weak and tired and loosing weight. She ordered blood work and a MRI and I had kidney cancer. She is very meticulous and treats the whole body not only the illness. She is lazer focused on her patients. She shows compassion. It's very hard to find doctors who truly take their time to listen and treat the whole person and not just the symptoms.

Outstanding performance. Listens well and really cares about her patients. I highly recommend her.

Dr.Pinkston & her staff, always treat me with honesty, truth & kindness. I feel safe, and trust her advice. She truly cares about her patient's.

I wish someone would make "Doctor Pinkston" close up shop. My husband and I went to her a few times and I felt like all she wanted to do was push her weightloss products on us. It is VERY obvious she lost a lot of weight but had a lot of cosmetic help becoming the "new" doctor she is today. How does that look to her patients?! It makes her look very fake!!

My husband and I both see Jill Bowman at Dr. Pinkston's office. Jill is very professional, personable, thorough, and spends a lot of time with us in the office. Prescriptions are submitted to pharmacy immediately which makes our lives easier when we aren't feeling well. We highly recommend Jill Bowman.

Dr Pinkston was very kind. However, she forgot to call in my wife's prescription. That was on Friday so we waited until Monday and called her office. One of the staff said she would call it in. Two days later we were still trying to get it filled. After one week of waiting my wife went again to pick it up and one of the staff changed the medicine that was prescribed. I called again to clear things up and get the correct medicine that was prescribed but her staff was trying to convince me to use the other medicine. The whole time we have never received an apology and her staff has blamed each other, the pharmacy, and now even us for picking up the wrong medicine. Dr. Pinkston is kind but her staff is very poor in character and very unprofessional.

Love these guys. Always busy!

I take my disabled son to Dr. Pinkston. She was very attentive with him and showed us professionalism. She is a great Dr. and the staff is friendly and it is very easy to get an appointment.
